@weejub Did you finish your Sprinter build? Need a recommendation on a shop in the triangle area who can install some exterior components on my 2500 AWD 144 high-roof.
My 04 470 used to have that issue. On hot days (mid 90s) I could hear what sounded like fuel boiling coming from the cap in addition to the odor. Talked to my trusted mechanic about it and he'd never heard of that noise happening on any vehicle. Now that she has 300k miles and isn't driven as...
Hey folks, owned several 100 series 470s over the years. Had the current one for 12 years and she has over 300k now. Runs great but decided to add a MB Sprinter van (2500 144 AWD high-roof) to the fleet. Any recommendations on someone in the Raleigh area for help installing running boards...
I ended up going with the Michelin LTX M/S2 in 275/65/18 about a month ago and have no issues to report. The ride is smooth and I expect to get great tread life. I will say that I prefer the look of the 275/60/18 on this truck but being stuck with the Latitude isn't worth the trade-off IMHO.
fletch...I'm thinking of doing the same as you on my 2004 LX470. Any problems/issues since going with the 275/65/18 setup on your '04? Wonder why Michelin won't make a LTX M/S 2 in 275/60/18??? :bang: Clearly there is a market for them.
I spoke with a Tire Rack associate today about the new Defender LTX M/S and he was meh on them. Said the Defender hasn't been a great passenger car tire and is somewhat surprised Michelin released the LTX version for SUVs. Also, he said Michelin is NOT phasing out the LTX M/S 2 as I had...
Meh, I DIY to save money and dodged a bullet not having to replace the actuator. Not tempting fate again by bleeding the globes. I lowered the truck, emptied the reservoir again, refilled with new fluid, and am done for the next 50k.
Honestly I'm leery of turning more screws underneath for obvious reasons. I think I'm going to flush the contents of the reservoir a couple more times (will raise then lower between flushes) and call it good. I won't be able to get all the old fluid out this way but can already tell a...
Hopefully the Defender will be an upgrade to the LTX M/S2 but more importantly (at least for 03-07 owners) we now have another OEM option than the Latitude which I feel was inferior to the LTX M/S2.
Good info in ITT so I'll keep it going. I am looking for a good Michelin for my '04 LX which rarely sees any dirt. Of course the only OEM tire available for the '03 - '07s was the Latitude...until now! It appears that Michelin is phasing out the LTX M/S2 and releasing the Defender LTX M/S in...
I also broke the bleeder screw on the accumulator a few weeks ago. Thought it was turning and then...pop! and it fell right off. Boy was I pissed thinking I had just thrown away all the cash I was saving DIYing the AHC fluid change. To my surprise no fluid has leaked and all appears to be...
