Hi, so at the end what happened? were you able to build your own rack or did you end up buying a new one? I decided to go with an aftermarket one on mine and not try the DIY... too much work for me.... lol

Hey I just came across with this thread and I know it's an old one but I'll give my opinion any way. Maybe you can use a universal mount and pair it with a crossbars you could find and do some little DIY and you got yourself a roof rack. I'm not sure if there's still a 2nd gen roof rack...

Nice job on that roof rack for this 4-runner model. Taking into account that it was your second welding project, you did really good!! I liked how you mounted the front lights.
