Wanted Desperately Searching for J78 Prado Headlight Washer Nozzles! Toyota part# 85044-60011

Either the check valves in the system have failed or the control module has failed (white plastic box, in driver's side fender area). I got mine to work briefly and then something in the system failed - I installed new check valves which was one of two failures. The other was a broken plastic...

    LJ78 Round Headlight Conversion

Those are aftermarket. Not sure if this helps, but FLEX opened up a branch in San Diego and they might be a source for these round headlight grills. I have not heard of them selling individual parts, but it's worth a shot.

Builds 1993 LJ71 in NYC: Build Thread

Front crank seal was confirmed to be the source of the leak. New one is on order and I'm trying to do some research to ensure we won't be tearing all this apart to get back here again. I'm thinking either the seal was not seating 100% as shown in the photos. I'm not sure if it backed out or if...

Builds 1993 LJ71 in NYC: Build Thread

Haven't replied to my own thread in a long time! Happy to report that Dad and I have been enjoying the Prado. We installed the Dobinsons OEM Height Restoration kit last autumn. It started at a good height but has settled a bit and honestly, it's a tad bit low for me. Should have gone with the...

    Rear (cargo) door electric lock?

If I remember correctly, black goes to ground and applying 12V (or 24V in your case I believe) will move the motor. Here's my guess as to why applying power to your pins isn't working - the motor inside the unit may be burnt out causing you to second guess your work. It's been a year since I've...

    Rear (cargo) door electric lock?

again speaking from my experience with Prados - the door lock/unlock switch on the door panel controls all locks at the same time, including the rear cargo door lock. This was the same behavior on both the 4 door J78 and 2 door J71 I have now. The previous owner of my LJ78 had installed some...

    Rear (cargo) door electric lock?

LJ71 owner here. I am not 100% sure if the troopy is the same but the front door locks on my LJ71 and previous LJ78 all have a small motor inside to operate the door lock. There are few threads about it here - you can replace just the motor itself with the same size one (it's considered a hobby...

New J78 Owner: What Maintenance Do I Get While the Car's Still in Japan?

I installed it last September, yes! It took 7 months to arrive with plenty of runaround from the staff at Dobinsons- only issue I’ve had with the suspension so far was that part. The ride is much better and I gained about 1.5”-2” of height back from the sagging springs and blown OEM shocks...

    Dogs and 70’s

This is Noodles, a 1.5yo French bulldog I adopted a few months ago. He loves going for a ride and enjoys the sliding windows of the LJ71!

LED Headlight relay failing - anyone recognize this?

Sounds like the relay is sticking! It's aftermarket and looks like there was supposed to be a label on that indented plastic portion of the relay case. If you can't find it on google by counting the number of pins it has, it might be easier to outfit another LED conversion kit. Good luck!

    Prado Headlight Washer Bottle Replacement

Unfortunately I never got anywhere. I also realized I made a typo on this thread - I actually need the windshield washer bottle, not the headlight washer one. My windshield washer bottle can probably only last the winter until it's time to find a suitable replacement.
