Thank you for posting this. For anyone looking into a new transmission (rebuild), I recommend doing so before you're dead in the water as Jasper has about a month wait (3yr or 100k warrenty) and Lexus has an almost immediate turnaround time for about 3k more (1yr or 10k dog s*** warrenty)...

They got back to me today and said the solenoids have the correct resistance, BUT they found metal shavings stuck inside them all creating faulty performance. They are gonna clean and put back together for now, but transmission is an inevitable future problem. I guess it will give me some time...

Solenoids checked out fine. Filter contained a lot more metal shavings. Looking like a transmission rebuild at 104K miles.

Man that is brutal. Lot of money to pay for no resolve. I’m hoping for less expensive news. My 460 is in the shop now. So far they found minor amounts of metal shavings in the transmission fuel and think it’s a solenoid issue only. I will know more information before COB today.

No, but the owner said it has the Prado frame. I don’t know how accurate that info is and not sure how to determine.

Thanks so much. I replaced transmission fluid mid-trip (7K mikes after problem and it had minor discoloration (normal for miles) and no metal??? This was 6 months ago now, so I could be looking at new damages from clearing codes for so long?
