I have an issue with my driver seat and can't figure it out!

which part?? I'm thinking of maybe putting a nut on top of the bolt so I can tighten it from both ends. Right now a nut doesn't fit but if I unscrew the bolt beneath it should give me enough room to squeeze in a bolt. I had to take the car today for it's yearly registration renewal and managed...

I have an issue with my driver seat and can't figure it out!

I have a 1980 FJ40 and I have an issue with my driver seat. The rear right side keep rotating which causes my seat to slant back on one side and then ends up completely disconnecting the back from the base. I can't get the rear support to stop rotating even when I tighten it. I tried to find a...

Ran into problem with rear door latch install

Just a quick update, I did what @CruiserInProgress had recommended. Ended up cutting around 1cm of the threads on the eyelet and then making new threads with a tap&die set. That was enough to raise the bolt so that I can now close and open the door with the inside latch.

oh didn't think about putting new threads on the eyelet, I guess now I have a reason to get a tap & die set myself :D

Ran into problem with rear door latch install

Yeah, my main issue is that the latches are extended too much and can't shorten them since the eyelets are already extended the furthest into the bolt, BUT you just made me think of something. I could cut a bit of the eyelet screw so that I can screw it in even further, that could help and...

Ran into problem with rear door latch install

yeah thats what I think I will do, I just wanted to double check I hadn't done anything wrong before I started tinkering with things. First thing I'll try is what one person suggested which is to try and raise it through the eye slot by using bolts to move the engagement point higher. If I can...

Ran into problem with rear door latch install

Ah thats what I figured, maybe the older models had slightly different sizes which explains why it's too tall for my car.

Ran into problem with rear door latch install

Hey everyone, I bought a set of brand new lock assemblies for my FJ40 rear doors from eBay. They were a pretty good deal, $125 for the pair (Parts numbers were: 69380-90800 and 69350-90302) But, now while installing I noticed an issue and I'm not sure if it's because I got the wrong parts or...

Which is the correct Nebula Green??

@man0fsteel The bumpers are OEM, brand new bumpers that came painted. They're still available for sale, got a new front bumper last year after a minor fender bender that dented the one I had installed.

What would cause a speedo gear to wear out in 1 day??

noooooooooooooooo my speedo stopped working again. This time it survived nearly 400 miles, I thought the issue was fixed! Could be because I used the 1x17 gear instead of 1x16. Luckily have a brand new 1x16 so will swap out and try one more time.
