I had a slow coolant loss. Blackstone oil report indicated coolant (not much, but, detectable). This was just after a complete rebuild. I was "sure" that I had a defective headgasket. My machinist was sure it wasn't. Coolant test was negative; crossed my fingers and put on the cooler. No more...

I had to replace my oil cooler. Pulled my hair out trying to figure out what was wrong. Just what the doctor ordered. Mucho easy job too!

Or... Because I'm in a generous mood, I'll offer to haul the poor suffering beast away for only $10,000. I'm such a humanitarian; anything for a fellow MUDder.

If it makes you feel any better... I did a similar thing, except I was backing in so it got my spoiler edge. Oh, but for 3/16 of an inch. I added another "stupid" trophy to my already vast collection. Reminds me to do the touch up

Saw the same thing today. Almost had a heart attack; then I remembered I still have 3 boxes (30 qts) from the last time it was on "special." Wonder what the new "special" price will be, that is, if it ever goes on "special" again.

I stocked up last time it was on special. Over here it comes in 2, 5 quart jugs. I walked by the display the other day, but didn't look at the price since I've got 4 boxes in the garage. Part of the price of dealing with not so friendly countries, I guess.

Addiction? I'd say so! A12 step program is what we need for sure! I think step 1 is PHH! Heaven help us for the next 11 steps. They all involve lighting our wallets, unfortunately. On the plus side... It could be worse. JEEP lovers need a 112 step program!

What one man can do, another can do. Low mileage is definitely a beneficial factor for anything metallic that sees friction. However age and heat cycles DO matter to non-metallic items such as seals, etc.

Completely rebuilt original engine. Though I have a brand new short block and other stuff waiting for me to do it again. I love the project!

To build on the above... I bought mine at the tail end of the Covid mess. I actually wanted a high mileage vehicle because I also wanted to do a complete "almost" make a new vehicle reset/rebuild project. I knew I'd be spending a ton. The candidate vehicle had to be rust free and triple locked...
