Sub-par work, welds were ugly all around.
Had them on my LC, I'd just make my own next time as I was close to cutting parts of it off and redoing some of the work.
Would make a ton of noise and rattle as it would be too close to everything else.
Damn, this is our first and only!
Helps I'm retired though, so when I'm not making automotive parts (for 2 local shops here), I'm making signs for others.
If it's within those limits, perfect. I already have a 2nd Gen Tacoma skid I need to cut next month and not to mention a ton of brake conversion brackets for a shop.
Good s*** though, if I kept the LC I would've made more skids to protect the underside. Being a stay at home dad with a 3 month...
A member simply asked if I'd make a set and what I would charge.
He isn't running any sliders, at least that I'm aware of, and I told him with my LC gone if he can sketch it up (or put it on cardboard) we can figure it out.
My sliders had a built-in cat shield.
I'd just charge for cost of...
Pointless thread, I know.
Just waiting to hear back from a member regarding dimensions in order to make a CAT shield.
Also, that skid plate I made has yet to be picked up. I'm the dummy for even making it; he's waiting to get paid in order to pay me for it.
Got so bored I even painted it...
I know you said you want the best but, I didn't want the nipple on an OEM radiator breaking on me again.
Ordered a Leiland right after getting back; incident happened 8 hours away from home where I had our 2 dogs and pregnant wife with me.
Fit like a glove.
While I was in there, it gave...
Like the title states, anyone sharing any CAD files for a bolt-on mount to the frame for a rear swingout?
Not interested in pulling off the rear bumper as it's way hot outside but if not, I may just make my own later.
Found measurements just as my power had gone out. Soon as it was back, I cut the brackets and finished the bends.
Told the customer I can't finish the rear mount without his vehicle present though.
Didn't expect it but got a customer request for this skid plate for his recently acquired 80 series.
Asked if I'm providing metal or if he is; wants me to do so.
Love when free scrap I've got laying around works out perfectly.
Also 1/4" thick so it'll be beefy AF.
Don't have the...
Thanks!
Naw I'm on the hunt for a Pick Up or single cab Tacoma; had a Tacoma before (as well as a 3rd Gen 4R) so really familiar with the platform.
This way I can have an off-road only vehicle.
Someone recently messaged me about a CAT shield, told him I'd be happy to fab one up.
Use it all the time.
Been meaning to modify it to a larger variant due to the sheer number of requests I get for larger items.
But then I'd need a larger press brake as well.
