Hi, After repacking the front wheel bearings on my 71 40 there is still too much play so its time to replace them. All the typical suppliers seem to be out of stock of the 'all in one' kits so I'm trying to find individual part numbers that someone has actually used successfully. Doing a...
If its still available I'll take it. I can mill out the center and bolt it on my current pulley via the threaded pully removal holes. I'm in Seabrook NH, what is the easiest way to get it?
Get yourself a helper to turn the wheel while you look at the entire steering linkage. It could be any item(s) like a bad tie rod(s), the drag link, the center arm, etc. You need to identify where the play is first before you can solve it. My steering is pretty tight but I've also replaced...
I had a similar issue with my 71. Frozen from sitting for over a decade Here is what I had to do to free it.
1- soak each cylinder for several days with your favorite penetration oil
2 - Yank head off and remove any visible bore rust with 1000 grit wet/dry cloth
3- Drop oil pan
4- disconnect...
Hi, I've got a 71 40 , stock F motor with a mini-truck ps system I installed about 10 yrs ago. I've been running the PS pump off JUST the water pump (with a double pulley on it). But I do get some squealing from it and I'm sure its going to eventually ruin the water pump. I would like to add...

Part number: 305-001. The switch is intended for momentary high amperage usage but works just fine for this. Its fits exactly in the bracket and it even has a...
I've got the 3 speed '3 on the tree' column shift. The reverse switch is mounted on a bracket on the column shift linkage. It is enabled /closed when reverse is selected by a section of the linkage pressing the switch in. The switch is a momentary 'on' type and is no longer working. Has...
Solved.: All the wiring traced good. I removed , disassembled and cleaned the turn signal switch. After almost 50 yrs the contacts were heavily pitted. I gave them a good cleaning with emery cloth then a good coating of dielectric grease. Installed and everything works fine. I did have...
Almost, there is one for running but the brake and turn share the same wire(element). That's what makes this a weird issue. If the turn signals work the brake light should work also as its literally the same wire and bub element.
As the subject line reads I have full functionality on the left side (parking, turn signal and brake lights) but the right rear side side I have parking and turn signal but no brake. The brake and turn signal use the same wire (which is brand new all the way to the firewall) so the wire is...
