    Engine idle problems

Hi guys, Having a problem with the idle of my 97' 1fzfe. Slowly been creeping up to 1000/1200rpm hot and cold. Then for some reason after driving on the highway I noticed it was idling at 1600/1800! So checked the following; -vacuum hoses for leaks -air intake hose for splits -iac valve -...

    Rear hub questions

So the parking brake decided to self destruct on one of Australia's many rough roads. Lost all the handbrake assembly. Damage to the large dust seal. Damage to the hub which includes the abs ring and the face where the inside seal sits, therefore a new hub is needed. I've got a 97 abs model...

    Braking issue

Hi guys, been having a few intermittent problems with my brakes. First is a pulsing sensation when I'm slowly braking around 20-30mph. But doesn't happen if I brake hard. Second is the abs light coming on intermittently. Maybe these two are linked. I took all sensors out and cleaned them...

    1fzfe urgent help

Hi guys. Update. So I'm in Alice springs in central Australia. It's pretty basic around here. Visited 3 mechanics and the main Toyota dealer. None of them would use a torque wrench. Toyota don't even know about the sst. They all said either use a impact wrench or a power shock bar. So what...

    1fzfe urgent help

Yes I bumped started to crack the nut. Worked well. My flywheel looks different to pictures of others I've seen. Completely flat with no circular holes. Spun it round a few times completely and they aren't there

    1fzfe urgent help

Thanks for help so far. Basically I had to do this repair in remote central Australia in a car park! So I remove the rubber cover and the flywheel is completely flat with no bolts. There are four machined holes that I guess are from balancing? So maybe the flywheel has been changed at some...

    1fzfe urgent help

hi, in the middle of the oil pump cover seal. That's done. Now I'm tightening the crank nut. However I've taken the inspection window off for the flywheel and there is not any bolts to fit a socket so I can then tighten the nut. It's a 1997 1fzfe. How can I get around this?

    Warn Magnum Motor Rescue!

Warn motor by Joet posted Aug 15, 2016 at 3:24 PM Ahhh so it appears it's very important not to let the bolts spin when tightening! Can this be fixed? Was thinking of bridging the damaged connection. Is it possible to solder this?

    1fz distributor question

I haven't and I guess everything points to that. Just wondering how it could change if it all goes back in the same?

    1fz distributor question

So I've checked everything I done, all fine. Actually how it first was found was/is correct. So any ideas on the loss of power? I've been run on lpg/propane. Could it be the timing even though it went back in exactly? Or something to do with ecu?

    1fz distributor question

Thanks. I'm going to have another look to check it. Would putting it one tooth back retard the timing and there reduce power? Might be what's happened

    1fz distributor question

So been out in the car and something not quite right, no top end power, really have to floor it to pick gain speed. When aligning marks on the rotor should they be aligned before inserting rotor, as the rotor will slightly twist due to helical gears.

    1fz distributor question

When it comes to the position of the rotor compared to tdc, how much different is one tooth anti clockwise? So the job was to replace dizzy o ring, that's all good. Set the engine to tdc, pulled the cap off and rotor was at 5oclock, rotated crankshaft 360 and rotor went to 11oclock. Now when it...
