When it comes to the position of the rotor compared to tdc, how much different is one tooth anti clockwise?

So the job was to replace dizzy o ring, that's all good. Set the engine to tdc, pulled the cap off and rotor was at 5oclock, rotated crankshaft 360 and rotor went to 11oclock. Now when it comes to putting it back, if align the marks on the gear as in fsm, rotor is one tooth forward closer to 12/1 o'clock.

I put it back as I found it and car is running fine as I remember... Should I try the factory setting?

If the car is running fine, I'd say you have it correct. One tooth off would result in a misalignment about like you describe.

So been out in the car and something not quite right, no top end power, really have to floor it to pick gain speed.

When aligning marks on the rotor should they be aligned before inserting rotor, as the rotor will slightly twist due to helical gears.

Yes, align the marks on the housing and gear prior to insering.

Thanks. I'm going to have another look to check it. Would putting it one tooth back retard the timing and there reduce power? Might be what's happened

So I've checked everything I done, all fine. Actually how it first was found was/is correct.

So any ideas on the loss of power? I've been run on lpg/propane. Could it be the timing even though it went back in exactly? Or something to do with ecu?

Have you checked your timing with a timing light since replacing the oring?

I haven't and I guess everything points to that. Just wondering how it could change if it all goes back in the same?

If you haven't set the timing with a timing light, you need to do so. Jump the two terminals in the diagnostics port and aim for 6 deg BTDC or so. You definately need to set with a light after R&Ring the dizzy as you can't return it to the position it was in with enough precision.
