Is getting a a 2uz powered truck (100 series, 4th gen 4R, gx470, etc) to "downsize costs" a bad choice?

I'm still around, just wanted to share an update. For now i am going to hold onto the Tacoma and get it paid off. I think the maintenance-"free" aspect is the greatest benefit right now (even with the additional cost). Even on the 295s, the Tacoma still gets almost 19mpg on my 90/10 commute. I...

Selling my personal 100 series (bittersweet)

These are such good looking vehicles. This era toyota product is excellent. The interior design reminds me so much of my 3rd gen 4runner.

    2003 LX feeler

I saw an identical color/spec lx for sale in SC about 6 months ago. It was a 2004 and had 143k, 1 owner, full lexus service. It sold for $19,000 but sold within a day of listing. i think you could start low $20s

For Sale 2002 with Factory Supercharger

I live there and could potentially look at it in person if someone was serious. The summer pictures are throwing me off though.

Wanted Anywhere: 2006-2007 LC or LX

That is insane that they are asking $19,000 for that. I'm shocked that a name brand dealer will something without working AC

    For Sale 2000 LX470 - 135k - Austin, TX

I watched an 04' lx470 with 145,000 was listed at $19,500 on marketplace. It sold in a couple days but was the definition of cherry. It was one owner, rust free SC vehicle it's whole life, and lexus serviced. I think you will get offers at that price (pending undercarriage pictures with IL...

Is getting a a 2uz powered truck (100 series, 4th gen 4R, gx470, etc) to "downsize costs" a bad choice?

I would have $1,000 set aside for basic maintenance. Plugs, air filter, cabin filter, heater hoses/T's, thermostat, rad hoses, radiator, complete front accessory drive, all fluids and filter. I test fit my rear facing carseat in the tacoma. Surprisingly, it fits in the middle seat but will be a...

Towing with a 200-series Toyota Land Cruiser

Weigh the tow vehicle with the trailer attached: Drive onto the CAT scale with the trailer connected, but ensure the trailer axles are not on the scale platform. Weigh the tow vehicle alone and subtract it's weight. This is pretty accurate as police can use this to find vehicles over GVM...

Is getting a a 2uz powered truck (100 series, 4th gen 4R, gx470, etc) to "downsize costs" a bad choice?

I actually checked that this afternoon. I called my agent I gave them the vin of a 2005 for sale. Full coverage was $5 more a month than my 2021 tacoma. Can't say i'm surprised, so it's good to know. She was shocked and re-ran the numbers.

Is getting a a 2uz powered truck (100 series, 4th gen 4R, gx470, etc) to "downsize costs" a bad choice?

I may follow-up with you on this. My closest friend hunts out of his subaru outback. We've hauled countless deer in the back of it. He bird hunts with a 70lb Bracco too. Things a mess though. Muddy, mildew-y, dog hair everywhere. Without dedicate snow/offroad tires, it has got us into some...

Is getting a a 2uz powered truck (100 series, 4th gen 4R, gx470, etc) to "downsize costs" a bad choice?

Retaining the AHC seems beneficial from most people that daily them stockish. How many miles does yours have? I feel a little affirmed with me assumption that LC owners are a bit obsessive with maintenance. I generally treat mine with preventative maintenance rather than reactive maintenance...

Is getting a a 2uz powered truck (100 series, 4th gen 4R, gx470, etc) to "downsize costs" a bad choice?

Thanks for the feedback. I don't mind basic maintenance as i keep my vehicle repairs ahead of any symptoms. My xterra was a bit "needy" but i also had the upgrade/mod bug. $150/month for a set of ball joints, then brakes/rotors, then belt/tensioner/idler is normal and to be expected. i am just...

Is getting a a 2uz powered truck (100 series, 4th gen 4R, gx470, etc) to "downsize costs" a bad choice?

Good afternoon, A year ago a purchased a 2021 tacoma trd off-road. I like most everything about the truck except to the payment (and it being slightly cramped). Circumstances have changed slightly and i am less in love with it than i expected. My family is going to add a fourth in the...
