    Evap advice

ok i have looked at that thread - great info - and this is what i am thinking of doing: there are 3 "out" ports from the tank, which you combined into one with the Y-fitting. The way my tank is now, 2 of those ports just connect to each other and the 3rd is the vent line that just vents to the...

    Evap advice

Hi all, I have a 1982 FJ40. I bought it sight unseen from out of state and soon after I got it, i noticed a strong gas smell, mostly when it had been parked in my closed garage. I found that the fuel tank had a leak and i had the tank replaced. However, most (if not all) of the EVAP components...

    Best Aftermarket headLights For Fj40

Thanks everyone. I don't think it's a polarity issue. Initially I thought it might be a wiring issue on the vehicle side - I recently purchased this and it was restored, but I know they had to put in a new harness - it's a 1978 harness put into this 1982 - and I have found a couple of others...

    Best Aftermarket headLights For Fj40

Wanted to see if any of the wiring experts out there could help me. Got some of these led headlights from @Racer65 but can't get them to work. Replacing sealed beam halogens that work just fine. Parking brake switch/brake warning light

Looks like I do have the float switch, see attached but i guess unsurprisingly, it is not connected to anything either. What year did they change from the pressure switch to the float switch, or could it be either in any year?

    Parking brake switch/brake warning light

Thanks for the replies. the wiring diagram i have (from 1980 FSM) looks a little different - see below - looks like brake warning light and parking brake switch are both grounded through the brake warning switch (which i think i on the master cylinder). But, sounds y'all are telling me there...

    Parking brake switch/brake warning light

I don't know who worked on the truck, I purchased it from a guy in Illinois. It's a US truck. You're right, i think the brake warning switch is attached to the master cylinder and illuminates this light if there is a problem

    Parking brake switch/brake warning light

Hi all, Land Cruiser newbie and proud owner of a "fully restored" 1982 FJ40. I love it and overall is in great shape, but I have learned that "fully restored" does not always mean everything was done correctly. Shortly after I got it, I noticed the brake warning light/seat belt light did not...
