    Too Cold to Start...What's Up?

Reviving this thread (hopefully). Did you ever figure this out? My 04 LX w 315K is having the same issue.

How does your 100 series ride in town?

Re: pulling itself into full lock and staying there-you probably don’t have any caster. Some (many) shops will only check/adjust toe when doing an alignment but won’t touch camber and caster. I got out the FSM and did a DIY alignment to max out caster and it cured my truck’s tendency to hold...

    UPDATE: DIY Alignment-Success!

Yeah I just measured between inside tire edges on the front and rear of the tire, got about 1/8” toe-in by that measurement. We’ll see how it goes.

    UPDATE: DIY Alignment-Success!

So I just went for it. Knew I couldn’t get too much negative camber or too much positive caster, so I used the FSM chart and cranked the rear adjusting bolts 9 graduations ‘longer’ and the front adjusting bolts 9 graduations ‘shorter.’ This introduced some toe-out so I shortened both tie rods by...

    UPDATE: DIY Alignment-Success!

Took my 04 LX in for an alignment, and I don’t think they even attempted to adjust camber or caster. I can tell visually that I have substantial positive camber and can tell from the driving manners that I don’t have nearly enough positive caster. I’ve read the FSM instructions and can calculate...

Coolant leak while parked & No visible leak

My ‘04 does the same thing. If I fill the reservoir it’ll drop down to about 1” below the full line within the first couple days, then it never moves after that. I’d say don’t worry about it.

    Windshield trim

Have a small gap between molding and A-pillar. Seems like Safelite used rivets (good) but they’re kinda loose (bad). Is this solved by re-riveting or is there supposed to be some sort of sealant/adhesive in there?

Any updates on IronMan Foam cell lift?

Ordered 2” FCP kit w/ diff drop April 11, delivered May 3, installed yesterday. When I purchased the vehicle the AHC had been cut out and replaced with a strutmasters kit, so a comparison isn’t super-helpful, but it’s WAY better. Truck feels planted but not too firm. Very happy so far.

    Puffing/chugging sound when warmed up

SOLVED (I think): Replaced the spark plugs today and #8 ignition coil was coated in fuel and oil and the plug was VERY loose. Not even finger tight. Put in a new plug, torqued appropriately, and the sound appears to be gone.

Any updates on IronMan Foam cell lift?

I ordered the Ironman FCP 2” kit on Sunday and haven’t heard anything. Order status still says “Awaiting fulfillment.” Just sent them a message and will report back if I hear anything.

    Puffing/chugging sound when warmed up

Agreed. It sounds like something pumping air and it sounds like it’s coming from the block valley toward the rear. Same volume from either side of the engine. Anyway, I’ll report back if I figure it out.
