U probably did this already, but did u run power directly to the motor to verify that it's working properly? I wasted lots of time before I realized I had a severed wire in the door between the green box and the motor. Tested with a 12V drill battery.
I guess not. I haven't found an OEM Denso FJ62 Alternator. Not for lack of looking, but maybe I'm not going about this the right way. Started with Cruiser Corps. That unit is the one on the top of the photo. Has the correct plug but wrong mounting wings and is a 1 belt grooved pulley. Then Parts...
This is a missing link for me. I have been able to find the correct alternator but the plug doesn’t match a 90 fj62. The circled plug is what I’m find while the top two are correct. Any idea about an adapter for this? I’ve seen them but can’t figure out how to order or source one.
Just made it loose so I could remove the belts but I’ll check that to.
I can hear the fuel pump and there does appear to be fuel getting to the engine, at least by the small fuel line that goes into the passenger side of the engine. Happy about that.
I went ahead and swapped the ignition...
This is incredibly helpful. I’ll go back look at all of these. She ran for a few days after the pump replacement but there were no signs of trouble before the no-start issue. The plastic under the hood is pretty brittle, especially around the thermostat. I “think” the last thing I did before she...
No engine codes now but I did have a code 25 ( lean fuel) that came one just once while it was still running. Verified that I have good spark. Seems like she’s not getting fuel. Going to remove a line to the fuel filter tomorrow to see if anything is pumping. Really hoping it’s not a bad fuel pump.
Hi. Did you get this sorted out? Having a similar issue and looking for some pointers. Truck was fine after a water pump replacement then just will not start. Haven’t started troubleshooting yet.
Had to do this today. Very easy from under the truck. Safety glasses are a good idea. Had toPB blast the bolt on bottom and the nut on top(accessed from the top). Easy job. Toyota still carries the starter and will give a rebate for the core if you don’t want to rebuild it. Electric socket...
So… you just heat these up from the bottom, remove, and replace? Is there anything I could do wrong there? Also to verify the issue is actually this relay, I assume I would not see current after the relay when activating the switch, right? Just getting the clicking sound now. Looks like the...
This looks great. So you used SEM coat. Did you prep with the SEM adhesive spray? U just taped the switches rather than removing them. It's a pain to take it all apart but I did do that once to clean the contacts in the switch. I have my brown switch coming now and need to do the same.
