Something similar happened to me with one of my keys after it went through the washer. If i hit any button the alarm would go off but I could start the car with the key. Could you have caused some water damage to you key since the last time you used it?
I recently replaced the rubber boots and seals on all my factory coil packs and picked up 2 Denso units to keep in the GX as backups. I plan on sticking with them until they fail. I got a great price and free shipping from Home Depot of all places.
I'm all about preventative maintenance and...
I really like the Ascend bumpers. Excited to see how it turns out. Have you decided on lights? I picked up some yellow Diode Dynamics in the SAE fog pattern and they have been great.
Keeping it under 5000 was my plan. Most of my future mods revolve around prepping for our next move. I've already got a Redarc break controller and I plan on doing the same 460 break upgrade that you've done. Not to mention air bags in the back. Basically following your build since I know you...

I already bypassed the SAIS with a RUTECH kit (link below). It was plug and play, and has been doing great the last 2 years. I haven't installed the block off plates yet mainly because I keep forgetting. But considering the faults I would get were for the left and right bank switching valve...
If you have VVTI GX I would highly recommend getting a ScanGuage or some device to read and clear codes. It's well documented throughout the Forum that the SAIS that all VVTI GXs have is a weak point.
When my SAIS started acting up I was happy to have my ScanGuage 2 to verify the code and clear...
Here is another new header option for the GX.
