Update - just drove around and when I got home opened the gas cap and got a little sound. I’m guessing it’s as good as I’ll be able to make it and perhaps a nearly inaudible whoosh is normal. Can anybody with a normally functioning canister tell me if it’s totally silent immediately after a...
Update - after hooking up the new canister I went for a 20 mile drive. As soon as I stopped the vehicle I hopped out and walked right around to the fuel cap and opened it up. I heard a bit of a whoosh. It was way reduced from before the swap though. It was probably about 5% of what it had been...
I’m not sure but the reason I did it was in case the canister ever completely fills with gas I’m hoping that the gas gets routed out of the engine compartment.
For the last little while, whenever I would open up the gas tank I would get a little bit of pressure release - whoosh. I have a metal LRA tank and so as the problem got worse, I would hear the sheet metal occasionally "pop" as the pressure developed - whomp whomp. At the time I didn't know...
Howdy all, I'm no electrical wiz and am hoping to rely on your wisdom here. I have an 88 FJ62. Yesterday my blinkers stopped working. My hazard lights still work and I can hear the relay clicking away under the dash by my left foot when the hazards are going but when I try the turn signal -...

A few of the plastic clips on my binders are broken and I just ordered them from Toyota. They’re cheap and so I figured I’d replace all of them. I noticed that it doesn’t want to just slide out of that front cap thing though. Any suggestions on removing that without breaking anything?

I just looked at my records and I don't see if it was the medium or heavy OME kit. Georg at Valley Hybrids would be able to point you in the right direction though. For the shocks it looks like we have the Billstein 24-065283 and 33-185590.
With the 40 gallon fuel tank and big bumper we have a pretty big leaf spring pack. We did the old man emu lift and swapped out the shocks for some Bilsteins. For me the set up feels just right and very smooth.
I got my ARB alloy roof rack on a few months back. Still working on tracking down some of the various little gremlins but overall it's really coming together the way I had hoped. It's in the shop with Georg over at Valley Hybrids after having driven it for the last 1/2 and identifying the...
To take the mirror apart:
Carefully pop the glass mirror out of the black plastic holder. You can start from one of the corners and slowly separate the black plastic from the edge of the mirror
Once the mirror is removed, you can see what it looks like in the picture below.
