I believe when my ECU was damaged and unable to control my IACV this created lean and or rich issues. I clearly remember a time when one tube of my header was glowing red at idle.
I knew at some point with almost 290k miles a rebuild would be inevitable...as bullet proof and well made as the...
Negative….valves burn and chip for different reasons/conditions. Anyone care to comment on if this block will need work or potentially just the head?
Also I was looking for the thread but has anyone successfully modified the second gen head, having a machine shop bore the hole for the...
I posted earlier about my dyno results and ultimately finding low compression on cylinder #1 (30) & #4 (60). I have not been able to do a leak down test but took some not so happy pics with a borescope tool. It seems there is a nick on the cylinder wall....any experts want to weigh in if it...
So an interesting turn of events....was happy with the dyno numbers but who doesn't want more. What I assumed was an exhaust leak has taken a turn for the worse. Just did a cold then warm compression test:
1# 30 no change wet
2# 170
3# 170
4# 60 dry 65 wet
5#165
6#160
Much different numbers...
I’ve seen a few up but no harm in adding another. This is a GCC Spec FZJ80 so it runs open loop only. The only modifications include:
Pacemaker ceramic header (no cats but that’s is standard for GCC spec)
Iridium IKI6 5303 plugs
Unifilter foam filter from Australia
I had the vehicle...
Still looking for a link to the General Market FSM for a FZJ80. OGBeno gave me a link to www.toyotatech.eu, but unfortunately no FZJ80 model is listed. Greatly appreciate a lead as I've been scouring the net with no luck.
Rebuilding the PTO and it seems the oil seal is, of course, no longer available. Toyota it as part # 90311-35028. Does anyone know how to cross reference this to an outside supplier? Any help would be appreciated. Tried matching it a local shops and was close but not the same.
Solved my no high idle cold start…..ecu was damaged. Swapped a different ecu and I have high idle cold start again. I will be sending my damaged ecu for inspection and repair.
Some great questions but an update to this post. Bad idle air control valve. Code 43 was resolved and related to a break in the speed sensor. The high idle issue remained even after swapping three different used IACV. A new aisin unit has been purchased and will update this thread with the...
Yes, I’ve tried that. I also put another IACV in place and still have the cold start issue. Does anyone know what signals the ECU sends during cold startup to enable the high idle?
