:D I needed a good laugh. Glad to see some good ol' ball bustin'. Have fun on the camping trip.
Oh and btw. The Nissan DD looks like she needs some love too!
Luke,
I have (quickly) read through your thread this evening and think you have did a great job getting the truck together. I particularly liked how you reupholstered the interior. Using the marine vinyl was a nice touch. I would have not thought to use that material but think it turned out...
Love the new lights. I have a few questions though. Are the lens made of glass or plastic? The OME lights appear to be a very durable hard glass. do you think the new lights will hold up? Also what are you going to do about the corner lights? Clear with yellow bulbs?

My 97 LX450 is bone stock! White and gold pattern. We inherited it a few years ago from my mother in law. She used it for traveling from TN to FL. All highway miles. Even though they were highway miles, it needed some love. At this point I have just kept it maintained until I am ready to start...
I did not know that about that year of Discos or the defenders. I am pretty impressed that Defenders located in the US sale for so much though. They are nearing 20 years of age and are still $30k plus. Supply and demand I suppose. I have heard they are capable but are a bare truck as far as...
Good choice to do an engine swap. My brother-in-law replaced his 2004 disco II's V8 with a donor from England...It lasted maybe a year and began to over heat again. Needless to say he traded it for something less expensive to keep running (Nissan Altima :(). I thought the Disco had great visual...
This is a great looking truck. I have one identical with 296k miles. I am running Michelins though and am pretty sure your paint is in much better condition judging by the picture. I am interested to see where you go with it. Best of luck.

I am glad you mentioned that you have it weighed down. That also would affect the 'stance' of the truck with 33s w/ lift. All things considered, Soccernut will have a dependable truck either way that will last him a good while.

I love how your buddy in the Disco II has his hood up! Good looking LX450. This picture reminds me of a magnet. The polar opposite of trucks on the reliability scale.

This is probably a matter of how much money are you ready to spend on the truck? Basing my opinion on what I have read on this forum, keeping it stock or going all out to customize it will both yield great results. Best of luck.

Jcardona1,
I have read through your thread and think you have done a great job outfitting your 80. Many of your additions I have thought are really practical and clever, i.e. the cooler sliding drawer, roof rack, roll on paint job etcetera. I have also noticed that you and your wife like to go...
Krazytoy,
This project looks to have great potential. I look forward to seeing the end product and reading of the race results.
Also, thanks for the education on 3 link and 4 link Watt's Linkage suspension systems. I have limited mechanic experience and knowledge. However, reading into this...
ylexot,
I am glad to see you were able to get your shocks on your LC. Coincidentally I was also trying to replace the front shocks on my 1997 LX450 last week when I ran into some trouble with the driver side front shock. I then cruised the forums and immediately came across this thread...
