spare key comes to the rescue!

Having a smart wife is a great life hack. Broken keys are a small price to pay for a reliable car Imagine loosing one of those $500 push button key fobs for a new car. Way worse!

    Agreed Value insurance policy?

The problem I had with full coverage is when you get in an accident and totally your vehicle, they will give you the value of a 400,000 mile 92 Toyota Land Cruiser. The appraisal will come right out of some computer system that has an average value of American Land Cruisers. That means you're...

    Agreed Value insurance policy?

Nothing major. Hagerty is used to insuring weird, oddball, and unusual stuff with skewed values. Allstate is not. It took several calls working with a local agent to get the underwriting done. We had to explain the short VIN number, explain how it is a Land Cruiser but not an 80 series...

    Agreed Value insurance policy?

I don't know of any policy that will cover a cruiser, or any car off road. Damage to a vehicle off pavement is too likely for them to take on the risk. I have used hagerty in the past with good success on a 40 and a 70. Agreed value, a couple photos, no appraisal, and keep it garaged. But they...

What did you do on your 70 series today?

I'd be very interested in your opinion on these in about a month. I was discussing my suspension options with Georg at the relic run this year.

    Kzj71 towing capacity

I tow a 2000lb trailer in Florida with my HZJ77. It does ok. Stopping is fine, even without trailer brakes. I have to keep an eye on my EGTs and I can't be in a hurry. Most of my towing stays under 60mph to keep temps down.

    Hzj77 vs hzj76

I love my 77. It's cheap to own (as long as you are not having to repair rust) and easy to work on the mechanicals. I actually find it to be a joy to work on compared to any other vehicle I've had to restore or repair. The 24v system gives lots of starting power. I have had 5 adults in it...

    Clutch master cylinder

Fully bleeding the accumulator was the difficult part for me. I replace the master, the accumulator, and the slave at the same time. I had to crack the hard line to bleed the air out of the accumulator before bleeding the slave.
