You could also look into the parabolic springs terrain tamer has. If I wasn't SOA, I would be all over those. I've heard from at least two people( through extensive research) that they're nearly as comfortable as a coil sprung suspension.

Wonder if they ride better than a well done SOA. Anyone who owns them happen to ride in a SOA fj40 and could compare?

I've decided to build my own sliders to save some money and work on my fabrication skills. If they aren't a complete embarrassment, I'll post them up. Found this great website with a how to guide and some flex pictures if anyone is interested...

Does anyone have any experience with sliders compared to shackles? I've read a few threads on them else where and wanted to see if anyone regrets converting to them. What's the ride quality like also?

This is all very helpful and gives me some ideas. What's the best center pin placement? Centered vs offset. I would think a centered pin would make the most of the leaf spring.

How did your fj40 ride before you stretched it and swapped one tons?

I've been going back and forth on what leaf springs to use for my fj40 build. Its currently set up with a SOA and I'm split with what springs to use. I have a set of Rubicon Express re1445 that are around 45.5 inches long with a centered pin, brand new. I originally wanted to go with fj60 rear...
