I somehow managed to lose the foam weatherstripping. How necessary is it that I install the foam?

I’m planning on getting down to Hollister Hills in the near future. What equipment do I absolutely need? I have a 2008 in great shape with K02s on.

This was my first time installing anything on a car and this method worked great. The only thing to add is I vented the window open to give me room for the trim.
