for anyone running a 5.7 vortec: Given the heater hose fitting in the intake manifold behind the ALT....do you have the heater hose running from that fitting to (a) the heater control valve or (b) the heater core pipe? I'm having some issues with heat and wanted to make sure I have the heater...

Good thread...I saw a new note pop up. I'll probably run my 5.7 until something explodes or starts knocking and wants to escape. I think on my slug....I'll do an automatic transmission next time.

I used some of the noted thread sealant on the fittings (threads inside the gear, and also a bit on the threads where the p/s hose mates with the gear. I used a little traditional blue loctite on the frame mounting bolts. I cleaned up the frame bolts for their 4 decade bath , I use a wire wheel...

not specific advice but make sure coolant sensor not a issue and fuel pressure not an issue.
