we had carpet cut for testing but haven't found a good solution for adhering it. know of some folks who had them powder coated with good results, painted with steel it with good results, etc. with the high thermal conductivity of aluminum, your skin/flesh will cool it off pretty quick (jkjkjkjk)

update, this is no longer the case. steering box went to hell within 2500 miles.
