Not sure what's so confusing for folks. Previous post discusses multiple different configurations, of which the portals are one config. Is lug nut count specifically what determines if something is a one ton axle?

Had the rear in for cruise Moab this year, did great. Did all kinds of trails with one wheel drive and 40s because didn’t have the ARB hooked up.

The size of these outers really is nuts too (Reid Racing). The portal axles use the same inner C’s, and the portals are actually from D60 application, just with Toyota 6 lug pattern machined in.

Same housings as the #1 setup in previous post which have the ford 9/10” diffs and all the stuff that bolts in/on them are from 05+ Super Doody. For instance, the unit bearings that setup uses are 05+ super duty, using them on all four corners so you only have to carry one trail spare (not one...

Never have had them on the site, it’s actually easier through email to make sure everything is just right.

@Marvelicious outlined the key points. Only other thing that comes to mind is that the closer you get to 1:1 for the diffs, the stronger they are. So keeping stock gears instead of going to 4.56/4.88/5.29 will keep the diffs incrementally stronger.

apparently there used to be, but it was expensive and reports say didn't work that great. tough to make that work well when the axle bushings are separated horizontally instead of vertically it'll be on the site someday. this is just the first prototype, actively working on the setup though...
