Indeed. I just feel like if I have to do a good amount of work anyway, I'll be happier with the end result.

    The Tatanka

Finally got around to installing the Kings. As it turned out, the UTV was giving us trouble at KOH this year so we ended up using the Cruiser all week instead. Johnson Valley is probably one of the best places to really put the Kings through their paces and holy smokes. What an upgrade. It...

Y'all are pretty well selling me on a UZ lol.

M101 is exactly what I had in mind.

What kind of fuel economy do you get with the sc 5vz?

I've thought about 5vz as well, but I feel like they give barely over 4cyl power at the expense of barely better than v8 fuel economy which is the main reason I've been a UZ swap. My main concern is being able to go up grades on the freeway while fully loaded or even towing a small trailer.

    And here's a few more.

Well, I got lazy and didn't post for a few years so I guess I'll update this. Piglet has had some issues, so I haven't gotten to enjoy him how I had hoped. First I'll address some updates with the trans function. It often won't downshift to first when I come to a stop which makes it an...

    The Tatanka

Yeah, pretty common, though most I see with utvs and quads don't go more than a few hundred yards from their rig lol. In our case, we just wanted to be able to haul ass locally without fear of wadding up the cruiser when out enjoying the desert. Furthermore 98% of damage the cruiser has...

    The Tatanka

I wish I could do that, but it's often about a 10 hour drive home in summer desert temps, so it's gotta be in a cooler.

    The Tatanka

We had a hitch carrier with a 77L I've chest and firewood. The same one from earlier in the thread. It did the trick. The bigger difficulty was trying to figure out how to get an elk out. We managed to do the 77 and 55 coolers on top of the rear platform in the back and then the 115 on the...

    The Tatanka

Now we're pretty well caught up to the present. When we bought Tatanka, it already had non-resi Icon 2.5s on it. Those shocks have been... adequate. Ish. The ride quality generally feels comfortable but boaty on the street, but they are somewhat floaty off road at higher speeds and with bigger...

    The Tatanka

Somehow, our oil cap vibrated off and fell into the radiator fan. A blade broke off and several others cracked while out in the mountains in Utah in the summer of '24. It was several days until I was able to identify the issue, so who knows how much dust got into the crank case. We had to...

    The Tatanka

December of '23, we drove up to Portland for my sister's graduation, so of course we took a short detour to explore some dunes.

Glad you enjoyed it. I wish I did a little more "building" to talk about, but this thing has been so good that I really haven't had to do much. And yes, my passenger princesstographer is indeed contributing.
