    Oil pressure gauge level

My 03 LX470 had the same issue. I replaced the sending unit and it cleared up. Now I have and 09 LC200 with the same issue. Seems Toyota has faulty sending units. Both my gauges move, they just stay lower on the scale.

TSB for steering wheel vibration - LC & LX differences

Seems like Lexus has a bit higher standard. All the upgraded parts Lexus has can be used on the LC. The damper will reduce some of the vibration as well as the upgraded diff mounts. IMO it is worth a try for the dollars. Those mounts do get old, in addition the fix part numbers have a bit...

Fisher112, Do you have any more info about the part fix from Lexus with regard to applying it to the Toyota?

AHC does large accumulator affect damping?

My LX was serviced at the dealer, plenty of records - no AHC fluid change ever done and fluid inspection confirms it. New oil is light pink, mine was black and lots of gas released when changing. If I had an LX and was not sure how old the fluid was, I would change it and start a log - it's...

    Power Steering Reservoir

I removed mine, used a coat hanger bending into different shapes with a piece of rag taped to the end to reach around all the crevices. I am cheap. Scraped all the crud off the inside, then soaked it overnight in simple green. I thought it was yellow from the start. That fluid gets dirty...

Start up puff of blue smoke

My 03 did this with 92k, changed the oil every 5k and it does not do it any more at 120k. Absolutely zero oil consumption. What Oil do you use?

    AHC Troubleshooting (Jarring/Harsh)

I just finished up my findings on AHC posted here. This can be difficult to diagnose. https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/ahc-does-large-accumulator-affect-damping.793110/page-2#post-9230503

    Alternator upgrade 180 amp

I was sitting still on the freeway, the outside air temperature indicated 106, the front and rear air were blowing hard, stereo was on and 2 cell phones were charging. I could see waves of heat coming up from the the pavement. We sat 10 minutes. I put it back into drive for the 3rd time and...

2uz engine sensor what is this?

Does anyone know what this is for? There is a small plastic connector with a metal tab inside. Looks like a place to connect a sensor. Here is a closer look. There is some debris in the connector.

AHC does large accumulator affect damping?

The dampeners cost about 2k, the the globes about 1400 and the shocks 800 so total about 4200. I would have replaced the AHC had I known the issue was the dampeners. The real pain was really trying to understand what actually went wrong. There is not a lot of info about the system and the...

AHC Fluid Replacement - Dealer says no?

Heat is the major contributor to hydraulic fluid using the detergent. If you operate in the north and do not tow, it can last forever. Also we are talking about fleet averages not any type of guarantee. Some small percentage of transmissions fail with very good maintenance. Some small...

DIY: Replacing heater hose pipe T's *important*

I replaced my T's on my 03 LX470 last month with 120k miles and the T's looked like new but the hose was compressed so much by the clamp that when I released the clamp it started leaking. Also there are two hoses under the vehicle that should be replaced at the same time. They were in need on...

AHC Fluid Replacement - Dealer says no?

You should not replace transmission fluid, however you should perform a drain and fill, usually getting around 4 quarts out. Then drive 30k miles and drain and fill again. This increases the amount of detergent in the fluid and inhibits small particles from sticking to the insides of the...

AHC does large accumulator affect damping?

Here are my findings in regards to the AHC riding harshly over small bumps: At least 3 of my 4 AHC dampeners failed and one was marginal. Cause: excessive heat buildup due to fluid not changed in 91k miles and large height accumulator seizing up and vehicle operated in hot southern climate...
