Drove the old girl 14+ hours through Japan to get up to Tokyo.

Awesome, I'm going to test fit them this week and work out the tire size after. I can't have much poking out, its over in Japan so I have to keep pretty tame.

No issues mounting those? I have a set in gunmetal grey with -20 offset that I haven't messed with yet. I can't go that wide with the tires so I am bit jealous of the look.

The -20 offset is a bit worrying, from what I am tracking the normal offset for these trucks was on the positive side.

Does anyone know the actual part numbers for these front and rear caps by chance?

Thanks, dumb question time. These are just for looks right? No other purpose but to fill the holes or are they actually needed for some reason.

I got ahold of a set of the 15in wheels for a 1988 4runner. They are 15X7J 6-139.7 -20 φ106 60 degree taper 12mm, any reason these won't be an easy fit? WIll the offset cause issues? Also, does anyone know the part number or where I could find a set of rear center caps for these? Thanks

The first real question is, what size tires are everyone using. I plan on running the retro rims 15x7 rims that were OEM back in the day. They seem to fit the vibe. But what size tires could I get away with?

Just something fun to tool around in. Nothing to crazy. Just wanted something with a bit of character and be fun to play with.

What shops or customizations should I know for these things? I know I want a softtop. Everything else is up in the air still.

Getting parts is always going to be rough with trucks this old. Good part is Im in Japan for a while so I can stock up and I know a bunch of people on the bases that could ship it to me once I move on. And if its anything like my 75 series I have here, parts are cheaper and easier to find...

For some reason they like to do these baby lifts on stuff over here. They don't really change anything structural as it has to be approved and verified to be able to be registered so mostly harmless.
