I have to change the rear axle bearings and seals on my 1997 4runner. I am curious if anybody has and is willing to rent or lend me a couple of tools. otherwise I'll have to spring for the tools myself.

I spilt some out of mine maybe 2-3 ounces. I added some back into the torque converter. However, I was told transmission fluid is pumped into the torque converter from the transmission so what I lost would not have been a problem if I didn’t replace it directly into the torque converter.

Does that noise sound like a valve issue to you? Ive got a similar noise. I am going to do a leak down test when I have a chance. Cylinder 4 is missing pretty bad on mine.
I was jiggling my wire harness to see if it was getting melted on the egr pipe and causing my misfire problem.... I gently touched the heater hose and it broke off the valve nipple! Glad I was at home when it happened!
