When I turn the key sometimes the starter does not seem to get the message to start. If I turn the key to full off then try to start it starts like normal with full power to starter. Sometimes I have to move the key between starting to full off a few times before the starter turns the engine...
Can someone please help me identify this hose circled in red coming off the throttle body? It seems I overlooked ordering the replacement as the one I have is rock hard.
Man - this all started with a small oil leak on the valve cover and distributor and now it’s gone full tilt. Yes, I keep eyeballing the PHH now that it’s more visible and I’ll finally attack that with parts that I already have that I’ve been avoiding - breeze constant tension with silicone hose.
Any chance anyone has replaced all vacuum lines, upper and lower intakes etc like I would like to do and has a comprehensive parts list from when you did the same?
Dumb question - do I need to take off the intake to clean it or can I clean it as it sits after I pulled the throttle body? Trying to avoid taking apart more than I have already taken apart - which is a ton.
Doing valve cover along with assorted hoses etc. the back side of the butterflies are nasty as is the intake manafold. Curious what I recommended to clean butterfly and intake?
Going to repaint my faded ‘96 fzj80 to original black with gold stripes. Looking for a paint shop north of Atlanta- any recommendations? Would like to spend up to $6k done right if that’s reasonable? I’m in the Gainesville GA area but don’t mind driving to the right shop.
They were not clicking before I pulled them off. I checked by doing tight turns in both directions.
Any guess on how many miles I’ll get by swapping sides? Thanks for the advice.
Truck has 190k miles...I guess I’ll gamble on putting it back in...I’ll be an axle rebuild expert after this overwhelming experience. The amount of grease and oil is amazing...
