Thanks @Buckow that's interesting perspective. I'm assuming springs/shocks will need to be replaced on a 75 regardless but good to know a stock 78 isn't perfect either. Great point about the gearbox as well.

Has anyone driven both an HZJ75 and HZJ78? We're just a few years away from being able to import the 78 with front coils, and I'm wondering how the ride compares between them. Can a well tuned 75 come close to a 78?

I’d like to overland with it. Heavy rock crawling doesn’t interest me personally, but I’d like to mount a rooftop tent and do some long camping trips out west.
