**Resolution**
Great News - It was just the REAR BRAKE FEED LINE that blew because it was rusted out (2005 LC). All other lines looked to be in very good shape. The independent shop I went to found the following codes:
C1223 FAULT IN ABS SYSTEM
C1252 HYDRO BOOST PUMP MOTOR FAULT
C1256...
**Update
I went out and started the rig up backed up and applied the brakes... there was ZERO Brakes... pulled forward in the driveway and I had to use the E-Brake. I popped the hood and the Brake fluid reservoir is Bone DRY.
Reminder of how I got here: I was driving down a steep driveway last...
Amazing pics - Thanks for information. I was going to have the TB & WP done tomorrow (about 10,000 miles early) but my luck the ABS Alarm sounded, and the dashboard lit up with the BRAKE/VSC/VSC OFF/ABS lights... I went out this morning and have no brakes whatsoever and just popped the hood and...
I did have a new Interstate battery put in on Tuesday... Though the slamming on the brakes going downhill on the ice tonight was likely the trigger I would think. I will disconnect the battery tomorrow. I am also going to head over to O'Reilly Auto Parts and borrow their ABS reader to see if...
Anavant, I have the same alarm sound going off. Did your rig throw a code? I ran my OBD doe codes and nothing appeared? Want to make sure I don't get crushed by the dealer with unnecessary work/expense.
Thanks
Hi Guys,
I was driving down a steep driveway tonight that was sheer ice... slid a good 50 feet at a 30+ degree slope. I had my foot pressed very hard on the brakes and first the red Brake light illuminated and then I dove about a mile and then the ABS, VSC TRAC & VSC OFF lights lit up with an...
RND1 - I got another quote to compare within NH and Irwin Toyota (Laconia, NH) gave me a $1,404 quote for TB/WP.... So Grappone Toyota (Bow, NH) was at $891... Irwin Toyota was $513 Higher (58% higher)... yikes...
Does everyone here feel like you have to get the WP/TB every 90,000 miles or can...
JOFS, I just noticed your second post with the pics. Thats 100% my LC... I can tell by the front bumper! Thats awesome. Any info you can share on what not to replace would be great!
Very cool you traded it in for a new LC. My wife drives a GMC Yukon and is always after my keys to drive it.
Hi JOFS, This rig must be yours... Berlin City in Portland had the records up until the 50k range. I would love to see if the vins match. I love the rig and its my first LC.
Thanks
I am currently at 173,750 miles. I went on Toyota to look at the history and there isnt any after 55,000 miles when the rig was sold to the owner before me who drove it from 58k - 170k.... I will say they had receipts for work done by previous owner but not at a Toyota Dealership.
Hi Guys,
I jut got a quote for the water pump & timing belt at Grappone Toyota in Bow, NH for $891 total (no tax in NH). They said its a 6 1/2 Hr job.
What is your take on the price? And what is a fair price for the work at a Toyota dealership?
The rig is a 2005 Landcruiser.
Thanks
I agree with Brizzle because I have seen his rig on his youtube channel and I would classify his rig's condition as being a 9/10 for a 2005 LC. Plus his rig was from the south and undercarriage and even his engine bay was pretty darn immaculate. I would say my rig is 7/10 on the scale and I...
That price is high. I picked up my 2005 LC (picture in profile) for $11,750 and it had 170,000 miles on it in August (up to 173,500 as of today). Mine wasn't show room condition but I know I got a very good deal on it. I think the value on mine would be $14-$15k. For $21,000 it better be...
I second the Interstate MTP 27F. My 100 series had a new Super Start battery when i got it and within 4 months and this Northern New Hampshire winter this year it completely died in my driveway. Granted we ranged from 18 degrees to -20 for a solid 10 days but a brand new cheap battery was done...
That's exactly what I am finding. No one up here in New England is a Land Cruiser shop or even have any experience with them... I feel like i might as well go to a Toyota Dealership and feel good about it. Thanks for the info and any price points you can share.
