DIY - GX460 Valve Covers, Cam Towers, Coolant Valley and Timing Cover

I don't have that info in front of me. My guess is.....yes. It looks like you have slack in the chain at the pic above. This isn't right. I would verify that the small chains at the cams are good (the single line markings/indicators) and that the cams are good with the double links etc down to...

DIY - GX460 Valve Covers, Cam Towers, Coolant Valley and Timing Cover

These colored links are not sufficient evidence for correct timing and alignment. You need to rotate the crankshaft 2 full rotations to verify that the timing marks on the crankshaft AND camshaft gears return to factory alignment (noted on the block and cylinder head) My understanding is that...

    2002 LX470 - roof rack cushion replacement

Thanks for the info. Yes, I was thinking used OEM but they are hard to come by. I did look around a fair bit before posting as to avoid gumming up the forums. I'll continue looking and check out 4x4 Rides. Thanks again

    2002 LX470 - roof rack cushion replacement

I have an early 02' build LX470 with the obscure/hard to find roof rack cushions/insulators/bumpers as per the photos. I was wondering if anyone could help located a set of (4)? Mine are shot. Like most of them out there. # printed on the bottom of these: 19877F (FRT LH) 19878F (RR RH)...

Lexus. I'm taking that in there and getting them to match it up. Find it in the FSM before hand. I guess you got it all out the block. Awesome.

I applied to the block. I think if you watch that YT link at the beginning of this post, there might be something there about applying FIPG for the towers. (Maybe not though, fuzzy memory) Take your time with planning FIPG and do it right the first time!

DIY - GX460 Valve Covers, Cam Towers, Coolant Valley and Timing Cover

I stuffed a ton of blue paper towels down there so I could run the brass wire wheel in my drill over those surfaces. Also used some scrapers and scotchbrite pads (those are the best) pulled the blue paper towels out carefully afterwards. You want those surfaces DEADLY clean. All this work and...

Ya I didn't remove it. And that's why I made the note about the small bracket there (rotated 90° or something?) Because it gives you room to get the pump off the timing cover and out of the way. But in the one picture here, you can see it above the alternator and the other pic (if I recall...
