    What is this Bushing

Hello, I need help identifying this bushing without disassembling my front end. I found it on the ground under the front end when I pulled my LC out. It split down the middle. Its 2" across and tapers to 1 3/4" diameter and has a 1/4" hole in the middle where a bolt must run through it. I can...

    Front axle rebuild

My local mechanic wanted over $3000 to do the job and recommended that I replace the axles. How can I tell if the axles really need to be replaced before I start the job. I am going to do it myself at this point.

Lotsa grease coming out of left Birf...

Thanks for the advice Old Nick and Brindleboxer. Looks like I am going to tackle this myself. Just going to suck it up and rebuild the whole thing. The Delta tool is out of stock RN, so I may have to wait a few week anyway. Northern Tool carries a seal driver set, but it doesn't have a lip to...

Writing in from the South Carolina Lowcountry. I had I local mechanic replace the inner seal on my passenger side front axle, but there is still a lot of fluid leakage that they could not fix (see pic). Transmission shops in the Low Country

I've got an intermittent transmission slippage issue in my 80 series with 205,000 miles. Anyone know of a good transmission shop in the Charleston area? Columbia or Myrtle Beach would also work. Please post or message.

    A '96 FZJ80 gets some spa time

Steering wheel locks great! Does anyone remember the other model Toyotas that use the same basic steering wheel? I need to get a cheap one off eBay to swap out while I have my steering wheel repaired.

    Occasional Engine sputtering-misfire

Checked the vacuum hoses and they are fine. They were replaced recently. One thing I did find is that the fuel pump resistor is not attached to anything it's just laying on the truck body. There are a couple of nearby harnesses with nothing plug into them that look corroded. Where should...

    Occasional Engine sputtering-misfire

So I bought the Veepak blue tooth model. I had been having no issues for over 500 miles, then boom. It started happening again. Had the Veepak running several times while the sputtering/ chugging happened, but there were no codes thrown or other data that would indicate that there was any...

    Occasional Engine sputtering-misfire

Previous owner had the fuel filter and both O2 sensors replace about 4 years and 20k miles ago. I went ahead and ordered two new sensors just to be safe though.

    Occasional Engine sputtering-misfire

The repair shop did have to mess with the lighting harnesses to get the lights on the Iron Man bumper integrated. I'll be checking them all out this weekend. Keep the hits coming...

    Occasional Engine sputtering-misfire

Thanks to both of you! I did check all of the fuses a couple of weeks ago and they were all good. I ordered the iPhone version of the OBD device.
