EFI main relay keeps going out

I do not think heat from the exhaust is an issue like most people say it is. I think it’s wiring.

EFI main relay keeps going out

I installed ceramic tuned headers 15 years ago. If you have rust issues, that may be caused by a bad grounding issue. Make sure your new heat shield isn’t touching something it’s not supposed to.

EFI main relay keeps going out

Thank you very much. Replaced contacts and re-wired the power cable. The old girl woke right up. The relay spade for that power wire was being pushed down and not connecting properly. Who would’ve guessed. She’s as slow as ever! Lol.

EFI main relay keeps going out

Anyway, after tearing into the loom of wires underneath the fuse box, I noticed previous owner had spliced in a new power wire To the EFI relay. Since I’ve owned this LC for 16 years, it must be a thing that goes out early. Splice soldering looked really good And wires all looked great as well...

EFI main relay keeps going out

Good advice. Planning to do that this weekend. I’ve heard somewhere those wires may have been a little too small from factory. Planning to check grounding as well. Just upgraded battery wires and terminals.

I put an end to my Charcoal Canister problems for good!

Good question. I forded a river 4 times that weekend deeper than the frame where the tube is housed. I surmised the venting is so gradual at this point, I didn’t worry. I have had no problem as of yet. The 2 hour drive home didn’t seem to reveal any problems.

Well. @LandCruiserPhil was right. Tested it out on the exact same trip. 3K elev. increase, 100+deg F. Pulled into fuel station away from the pump attendant and untwisted my cap. Nothing. Not a sound. No vacuum. Also, I opted not to change out the carbon. No smell, nothing. Well done, sir.

I put an end to my Charcoal Canister problems for good!

Yes, thanks. I’ve watched them all concerning the VC-120. Im going to try to make that my last option since to me, it reminds me too much of using duct tape or electrical tape to “fix” something. The OEM unit worked at one time. If it is now indeed the problem, I believe it can be...

I put an end to my Charcoal Canister problems for good!

So.....1991 FJ80, western Idaho to Eastern OR @ 97degF, 3k ft. elevation gain, consumed 1/2 tank, stopped to re-fuel, scared the crap out of the pump attendant when he removed my fuel cap (scared the s*** out of me too), vented violently for about 2min. Couple of things to note: 1.) Daughter...
