Folks there has been some talk about canceling this year’s event due to lack of registration. I would really hate to do this but if we don’t have the numbers I agree we will have to cancel. We need 40 rigs to break even and right now we are nowhere near that. My position is that if we don’t have 30 by 8/15 we will have to cancel the event. So if you are planning on going please send in your registration ASAP, if we do cancel all funds will be refunded

Thanks Rob

I'll be signing up today. Come on folks let make this happen.

Rob - I have started to post up on other boards to help spread the word.

Rob, where do I sign up? I'm still in for cooking if my help is needed. Don't you think a bunch of folks are waiting until later to sign up?

Ed

So Chris, do I need to use the form in TT or can I sign up online?

In addition to registrations we need people head up certain activities if we want to include them this year. This is turning out to be a busy year for everyone…some of those that have organized certain things in the past are not able to attend this year so I’m calling upon the talent of the club to volunteer…
Borrowing quotes from my valued club advisors (thank you gentlemen…you know who you are):

“Kids stuff - Mike & Deb were going to handle this and are now not attending.
Registration - Andrew was handling this with help from Shannon and Chris. They aren't attending.
Raffle - Erik and Mike typically led the charge in rounding up stuff, transportation, and getting the raffle done. They aren't attending.
BBQ - Mike and Ed Long had offered to handle the BBQ duties this year. Mike C. is not attending and I'm not sure if Ed is either.”

“Remember, this is supposed to be fun! So if it turns into a bunch of work and sours any or all of the group then there is no reason to have it. Don't make it a JOB or a massive chore for a few..”

Matt, I'm in. Just downloaded and printed the registration form and will have it in the mail today. Mike Costello is not coming????????????:frown:
I am still in for the BBQ. Will pre-cook and bring down to reheat most likely. Is there someone that I should be in touch with?

Ed

you posted up while I was typing...;p

Lets see what kind of responce there is in the next few days then we can make plans.

Sadly, some people wait till the last minute to register simply because they may not know about it. Some may want to register following Tall Corn, because it will still be over a month away. Both BHCC & TCCC registration #s are down this year, and I'm still planning to make FN (but my registration won't help as I won the pass at BHCC ;)).

Is the FN park costing the club too much, might be something to consider in the future. Especially since they still don't have pit toilets or hook-ups :frown: Just wondering out loud.

I was hoping to strum up a few more registrants at Tall Corn, but that is held after the cut-off date. Hopefully it works out.

Just an outsiders view but your lack of on-line registration is hurting your numbers. You need to find a way to get one hooked up. Talk to Brian at Ih8mud and see if he can do a temp site for you. At least an on line spot to put yourself down as yea or nay. I now that there are at least four trucks comming from Springfield that are not registered yet. I would be shocked if you didnt have 40 people interested.

What is the current count on registration?

Thad...thanks for the input. I don't really consider you guys "outsiders"...more like next door neighbors to the south. We pretty much consider your group as guaranteed to be there...

I'm not up on the web site lingo so I'll have to chat with Andrew or Chris on the specifics.

As of last Friday I believe we had 2 official ones. I'm gathering that a few more are being sent today.

I am thinking about coming, however don't have a rig rolling yet. Is there anyone that would consider a co-pilot? Several people at the meeting last year told me to come down, and I would learn alot by seeing what other people have put on their rigs.

Thanks,

Kelly

I agree. A lot of guys wait until the last minute. I think in the past couple of years the volutile fuel prices have really effected many peoples travel budget.

I am kind of on the boarder. I am hoping to make it down. I specifically took the week of Sept. 29 off so I could make it. I want to hit some other places on my way, but as of right now I don't have anyone near those areas to show me around. One of the deciding factors is going to be the travel costs. I hope the event is a go so I do have the option to come.

I suspect a couple others from up this way will make it down.

So, who all is going?
I sent my $ in today
Rob
The Crows(Mike and Peggy Sears)
Chris Rech?
Craig C?
Is Marc Chenoweth going? (Osagecruiser)
How about the Columbia guys, Chef and Sherpa?

Kelly, my son is supposed to go with me, but you never know. So I may have an empty seat. I'll be driving the 40 and pulling my little pup trailer. Probably leave Wednesday or Thursday and spend the night with some friends at the Lake of the Krazos.

Ed

I want to be there, but I am just not sure. I have a trade show in CO that week and I am not back until Thursday or Friday. My company just sold and I am not real sure where I stand with my career:bang: I will try, but don't count on me this year. If I do make it, I am happy to help any where I can with tech, activities, etc...
