I spoke with the Forest Service and confirmed the dates for our volunteer work. Dec. 7-8 and Dec. 14-15.

This year we will be asking one person on each day to be a coordinator so that if last minute information becomes available it can be communicated to those volunteering.

Please post up your intentions and if you are willing to be a daily coordinator. Please send your phone number to the daily coordinator by personal message PM.

Meet at the Western Gas Station at 8:00am each morning.

December 7:

Leon - coordinator
Travis
Andrew
Jim

December 8:

Luke - coordinator
Chuck
Sam
David H.
Travis - probably
Eric - short guest appearance

December 14:

Leon- coordinator
Travis
Jim
Sam
Andrew - maybe

December 15:

Luke - coordinator
David H.
Travis - probably
Eric - probably

We want this to be fun but remember first and foremost this is a volunteer event and we are helping the Forest Service. So if it snows and it is not your day you can still come out but please keep to your original commitment as well.

Per Sam:
Also, don't forget to track your mileage, starting from home. This is an official gov't volunteer effort so mileage should be tax deductible (consult your tax advisor).

I'm planning on the 7th and 14th.

Only one week away.

Saturdays appear thinly covered and nothing for Sundays.

Do I need to tell Rick we cannot cover him on Sundays this year??

I always hold off every year to see what days get thin before I jump in. Since I live 3 minutes away from rampart, I'm a little more flexible. I'll take both Sundays and be the coordinator. I will see if chuck will be in town, he doesn't check the forum much, but I'm sure he'll come out if he's around.

My friend Rodney was also inquiring about riding along, but I can't remember what the club policy is about non members on this outing. Being out numbers are thinning, we might have to start inviting friends :)

I should be able to make it out for both Sundays. Still a "maybe", but leaning more towards a "probably". :D

I vote for the more the merrier...

Or you could just get Rodney an early Christmas present in the form of a CLC membership!

Let us know if Chuck is coming so I can get a head count. See if Rodney can come as well.

For those inviting friends, remember this is a club event and all rules apply.

Thanks for the heads up Jeff.

I will be up with the family, including a 4 yo, getting a tree on the first Sunday (8th) - so won't really be patrolling but will have the radio on.

Will be up at least one day the 2nd weekend - probably Sunday as well.

Getting snow up there in the next couple of days is going to make things interesting. There's already a bunch of ice on some of the roads. 300V has its glacier already. The tippy section on 315 has been covered with snow and ice since October. The summer storms made a mess out of 327, 351 and 300V.
