Description:
Up for sale is a very nice 73 FJ40 converted to a 2H Toyota Diesel with matching 5 speed and split transfer case. This truck has been properly repainted by Cool Cruisers of Texas back in 1997 in the original color Pollux Orange. The truck has been garage kept since and has lived in San Antonio for the past 10 years. The interior is mostly original with the addition of carpet flooring and window tint to help with heat. Vintage air a/c and heat works well at keeping you comfortable utilizing the factory 2H a/c compressor. A Saginaw power steering box is mounted up front and is pressurized by the factory 2H power steering pump. The differentials are geared to 3:73 to provide a higher overall cruising speed. The front brakes were converted to the newer disc knuckles to allow for a 78+ disc brake setup that works very well with the stock rear drums. The front bumper was recently replaced with a new Toyota bar, removing a large custom bull bar and winch for customer preference....old bumper and winch are available if interested.
The engine was recently serviced, oil, air, and fuel filter were replaced as well as the power steering belt. The alternator/vacuum pump assembly was replaced with a brand new (not rebuilt) Terrain Tamer product that was brought in from Australia, along with a new battery.
Also Included:
Like new full car cover
Documents and service records
Custom made cattle guard with winch (heavy!)
1973 Vintage Texas License plates already approved for use
Original Owner's manual
Cons:
Rain gutters are showing signs of rust underneath the sealant.
Does not have an e-brake installed (split transfer parts needed, or aftermarket e-brake)
Wheels are mismatched with riveted steelies on rear (will not fit on the disc front)
Tear in Driver’s seat bottom
Could use a fresh suspension kit (happy to assist the new owner)
Let me know if you have any questions or concerns, more pics to come.
Thanks,
-Cody
