"Hey can I borrow that? Words many of us dread to hear, especially from someone you like. We fear this question because it often, months down the road, leads to grief of our own when we can't remember who the hell we lent it to. What is "it"? "it" can be any number of useful or semi-useful items that one might own. Tools, books, videos, you name it. We've all got something that we've loaned out and forgotten what ever happened to it. And many of us have items in the garage or around the house that we've completely forgotten that we borrowed oh so long ago.

We are all lucky to belong to a club that has over the past few years made a couple of purchases and had some donations of items that "belong to the club" and it's members. These items are available to all members on the honor system that they will use the item and return it when finished. This thread will be the keeper thread for all of these items. I will do my best to keep up to date with the list in the first post. I will ask that if you "borrow" a club item, you sign in here and post that you now have possesion of that item. I will update the list when checked out and when you post that the item was either returned or passed to another member.

The list:

Birfield video: @FJ40LVR

Head gasket video: @LandCruiserPhil

Big Gas Grill: @Dimples

Bman's engine hoist: @BMAN

Bman's engine stand: @BMAN

FJ40LVR's Strut compressor: @FJ40LVR

FJ40LVR's Kamp Kitchen: @FJ40LVR

LandCruiserPhil's Radiator flushing adapters: @LandCruiserPhil

Techstream Cable and Software available for loan

If you know of other club items that "we" own, and/or their whereabouts please post up and I will update the list. If you have an item that you feel the members of the club could use and you would like to add it to the list of loanable items that will be tracked here please post up and I will consider adding it to the list with your name attached so that it is known to be your item but available for club use.

If you are listed here as being in possesion of an item, you are responsible for said item in it's entirety. This means, you lose it, you break it, you replace it. If you agree to borrow the item, you agree to these terms. All items are to be returned in the condition you received them or better. If it's dirty, clean it before you return it. If it was dirty when you got it, post up then clean it anyway. This way we can smack around the guy that returned the item in poor condition. Again, your agreement to borrow any item means you accept these terms. If ya can't live with that... don't ask to borrow a club item.

I also suggest this thread become a sticky.

this post reserved for pics of items

The first post will keep inventory of said items and who has possesion of that item (in red). This post is where I will host a picture and description of items available for club use. This will be kinda like the CSC CO-OP of tools literature and so on.

Birfield video was loaned out to the guy with the 60 (Lee?) that moved back East that was never returned.

I made contact but I didnt press the issue because the video sucked

I got the Birf Vid from Lee the day before he moved - he was a neighbor. And the Video does suck...That being said, I have a DVD burner on my Laptop, and can make additonal copies for safe keeping...

Go to hear, I thought Lee was a stand up guy and thanks for holding out of the club...now we can clear Lee name and replace it with yours :flipoff2:

Note: I would not give the video to anyone I would be wheeling within the future

It seems as though you did. And you may have even done so earlier than that post.

So the question is now back to Phil... do we also have the headgasket vid for 80 series or is this something I'm making up?

Ya but it sucks more (if possible) then the birf video. One of the most important part of replacing the HG is that the head uses torque to yield bolt and they need to be torqued in sequince...nothing about either in the video:meh::wrench:

I have on occasion (actually many occasions) needed a strut compressor to do various projects on my 4runner over the years. Usually I "rent" one from Autozone, Checker, etc. It seemed that these were allways crap and bent inordinately and I was lucky to ge tmy deposit back for em after "responsible" usage. Now I realize that a strut compressor is not a super speicalty item or High $, but it can be valuable when you need it to get you rig back on the road, do maintenance, lifts, etc.
I purchased a "good" strut compressor about a year 1/2 ago and have only used it once. If anyone were to need it, it is a mile better than the crap that autozone loans out, and I would be cool with whomever having it in the club for as long as they needed it. I would donate it to the list if there is any interest or demand for it - Bmans call.

I have another Item to donate / add to the "Club Use Items".

This will go hand in hand with the Club BBQ Set - a Complete "Kamp Kitchen" Set up for preparing / cleaning up etc.

Added to the list!

Phil, I actually have no idea, there is no markings. It is high quality, good steel and I dont know the brand as I picked it up on the street this weekend with a "free" sign on it!:D I talked to the owner, they couldnt figure out what is was as it was not assembled correctly....

DING DING DING DING DING DING!!!!! Looks like we have a winner!. And for your outstanding detective work, you have won a free weekend's of use of Bman's new kitchen........

FYi, I still have the CSC camp grill/propane tank at my house for CSC member use. If anyone wants to use it, please let me know.

We need an occasion to put it to use. We should revive some of the old annual runs/campouts. Isn't it about time for Payeatte?

I think that would be a good ROTM for September if someone would take it....
