Been trying to decide what to do for my rear bumper/tire carrier and noticed that the wings weren't available on the hefty site right now?

Just got off the phone with Hefty checking on shipping status for a front bumper I have on order so I asked them what is up. They have temporarily suspended production of the rear bumper wings due to complexity of production. They anticipate replacing the wings with a one piece solid bumper at some time in the future. Another issue was low demand for the product coupled with the high degree of difficulty to produce it. Hope this info helps.

I appreciate the heads up onebottledave. I wasn't ready to order anything and was already on mud so I thought I'd see if anyone knew, glad to see you did or asked for me anyhow.
Apparently my post offended you 96r50 but you didn't have to click on it and you certainly didn't have to reply with an attitude. I guess I should have picked up the phone, it would have been easiest but on the other hand you didn't have to go out of your way to be a jerk.

No surprise to me - the economics of the wings just didn't make sense compared to some of the lower priced full bumpers by the time you got the wings, then the hardware, then the attachment for a spare tire, etc. At least if I was reading the pricing correct.
Not to say it wasn't a good product, just wasn't going to be a super economical way to get the spare up out from under the 80, as seemed the original goal of these.
By the time you buy a quality hinge(s) & attachment latches for your arms & whatever other hardware you add, it seems like you are a good $350-400 into this, so you might as well get a full bumper if you are going to bother.
Not to say it wasn't a good product, just wasn't going to be a super economical way to get the spare up out from under the 80, as seemed the original goal of these.

I guess I just don't see the point in asking a third party for information that is easily obtained straight from the horse's mouth. It's not like they're going to pressure you into buying the wings if you called them to ask a simple question. Heck, your original post is close enough to an email that could have been sent directly to the guys at Hefty while you were on their site.

No apology necessary, maybe it's my time of the month. At the very least if someone was considering one and they saw this thread they'd find out now instead of latter when they might be ready to pull the trigger.

I'm (un)patiently awaiting mine. I must have got the last one as it was suppose to ship last week.
I like the wings as opposed to a full bumper. I did get a tire carrier swing out as well as full powder coat. I'll take some pics when it arrives!

I really like your product, and from what I'm reading on here the price isn't bad at all I am VERY interested!!!! I know you said the are temporarily discontinued, but if u ever do a rerun of these in this style or any I would dern well be interested!!! What is your website?
