For those who missed my spring spacer thread, Metal Tech has agreed to do a GP on their custom 1.5" and 2" front coil spacers

Made from 1/4" steel plate with a 3" center section, the spacers are powder coated, pre-drilled and ready to bolt in place :D (mounting hardware included)...

They're sold in pairs and are available in either 1.5" or 2"

Unlike the usual rubber or plastic spacers that fit between the cone bumper and the top of the coil, the Metal Tech spacers are solid steel that bolt up between the frame and the cone :)

This lowers the cone and keeps the top of the coil secure, insuring that the coil will not slide out of place due to the taper of the cone

These spacers usually sell for $144.95 + Shipping, but the good folks at Metal Tech have agreed to take 10% off and ship them out for FREE :grinpimp:

That's $130.46 for a pair of these badboys shipped to your door!!

They only need 3 orders to complete the GP and I already placed mine, so 2 more orders and it's a GO :D

This is dang tempting, but I think I'd be chasing down caster issues if I indulge.

I am in, What do I need to do? I haven't purchased anything on this forum or done a group purchase.

OK, I finally got around to installing them earlier today :)

Here's what she looked like after the winch install  (note the stinkbug stance)

Measured at 34.5" from floor to fender

Here she is after the install :) (completely level)

And here she is after taking a 30 minute test drive, going over every obstacle I could find in the area ;)

The ride is slightly stiffer and there's a little more roll, but she feels good

Hit the highway to check for any high speed caster wobble, got her up to 87.3mph (GPS) and she was smooth as glass :steer:

Anyhoo, if anyone else wants in on the GP, Halloween's the deadline to place your order

If you start hearing an odd thunk from the front end, check to see if the bump stops are hitting your spring. I made a couple runs of this type of spacer a few years ago and when I went up to the 2" spacer with a J spring, I found that the bump stop was rubbing on the spring. Couple other guys that did the spacers with me found the same thing. Easy solution is to remove the bump stop from the cone and use a earlier frame mounted bump stop.

More expensive solution is to go with 5" OME Comps . . .

It looks to be at about stock height, so you shouldn't have caster issues. I'm guessing 33" tires, ~16" rolling radius, so 20.5" hub center to flair, with ~20" considered stock. How close are the bump stops to the axle pads?

Ordered the 2" spacers today! Ordered them from LT, for some reason I imagine him looking like Devin Townsend if anyone knows who that is... Shipping wasn't free but we ended up splitting it. The price quote was 50+ for UPS! Dang!
