Hi,
I have the 2 1/2 inch kit on my truck, and thus far (4,000 miles) I am very happy with the results. The ride quality is vastly improved over the worn out stock springs. I am only running 31's but I could go much larger if I had the need.
If you follow the link below, you can see two pictures of my truck on Camel 4x4's website. It is the tan FJ 60, the 6th truck down.

John,

as you probably already know, Mark's Off Road is now a distributor for Ironman Suspension products for 40, 60, and 80 series Land Cruisers.

I stopped by his shop last week and he was unloading a new pallet of Ironman products, and since I have extra-heavy OMEs on my truck, I wanted to compare them to the equivalent Ironman setup.

I wish I had taken pictures, because I was very impressed with the Ironman setup and build quality. The rears have 10 leaves, including overload, and the overloads are noticeably thicker than the OME. Energy suspension bushings fit perfectly, so you wouldn't have to use those $$$ OME bushings.

Mike (Biscuit) installed some on his 40 last Saturday and he's very happy with them. He says all the sway and steering play he had before is gone, even at highway speeds.

If the Ironman were available when I was in the market, I probably would have gone that way, mainly because of cost and shipping considerations, and the Ironman springs just look super beefy. I'll see if Mark has any pix and I'll post them.

And, if you get them before SnT, I'm sure Mark or I could MUD ship 'em and save you $$$ in shipping.:)

Awesome

Glad to know that some of you are giving another brand such positive feed back,Spike i did spoke to Mark A. yestersday about ordering some skid plates for the leaf springs and he did mention about the Iron man suspension during our brief talk and it kind of got my attention and the price was right i will call him back monday afternoon to get a price on the rest of the stuff so i can do my lift this coming winter since my work wil be slow.i can't wait to get a lift on my rig it's been long overdue.

Atlanta Custom Creations is installing the 2.5" Ironman lift on my 60 because they're made in Australia, better quality than OME, which is now made in Japan. It's my understanding that OME & Ironman were at one time the same company, I may be wrong, or at least made in the same factory.

Pics?

Zack,

Would you happen to have any pics of the suspension under your rig?i like the outcome of the after shots on your rig.:bounce:

John

OME are made in Malaysia.

I asked Mark where the Ironman are made and he's not sure - we could not verify they are still Australian made, and probably are not since even the Mojave springs from MAF, I believe, are outsourced to India?

I may have misunderstood when I was talking to the guys at ACC. I'll take some photos when I get my 60 back.

We have installed several Iron Man lifts on 60s 70s and 80s and have been very impressed with the quality of the product as well as the ride.

We can supply their full line of products from lifts, bumpers, skid plates, winches, tents etc. Give us a call at the shop for pricing and application questions.

My 60 has an Iron Man installed by the PO. I think it rides great, better than my teeth chattering Tacoma. I'm running 33's with room so spare. The rear sits up just slightly but I I could care less.

Who is "we". link?

Does ironman have a stock height spring pack for the soa guys? Ive been thinking of new leaf packs for mine and it would be cool to have another option.

D

I think the general consensus here in Aus is that the springs are really stiff. I'm not sure they are made here though...... The shocks are gabriels with an Ironman sticker.

No stock height springs but used 60/62 springs are easy to find for a SOA.

Speaking for the entire continent?

I have an ironman lift

A few years ago the only US seller of Ironman lifts went belly up and about 10 kits were sold on ebay for cheap. I bought one of the kits and have been very pleased with it over the past 5-6 years. The rear does sit a little higher than the front with a light load but beyond that it has held up great. I run 33s. The only think I have noticed is that OME appears to sit a little taller than the Iron man but I can not say for sure.
