Ordered this last week, and got an immediate email that they were going to have to build the harness for me. Got it today! First impressions: this thing is professional. Hella relays, and vibration resistant terminals. Everything looks of tip top beefy quality, and can tell that I really got my $ worth! Also, it was well packaged.
Wont be installing this loom until I get the rig running (and will get more photos/info once I get my engine/gauge wiring figured out, but am very happy with this purchase thus far!

Nice! looks like it's pretty much plug and play.

Wiring Harnesses

about half-way down the page.

I'm ordering mine from Daniel Stern this week...

RallyLights.com
link: Wiring Harnesses
Part: #HL28202S (under wiring harnesses)
Cost: $120.69 (w/shipping)

any update on this harness from rallylights.com?

I bought the same thing and have had problems... everything worked fine before install, upon install my drivers light keeps blowing out and the passenger side is very dim once the drivers blows...

The wiring is most likely wrong for the 3 leads going to each light. This is a standard wiring layout but some differences between different cars. I would give them a call and ask for your money back or help on trying to resolve the problem.

I made my own and everything works great. I wanted the high beam indicator to work. This is one of the best upgrades in my opinion.

The biggest cost for wiring for me is the relays. After that it's just time. I think $120 isn't bad if you don't want to touch much wiring but for a learner like me I feel i can do it for half. I also feel like I need to do it since I bought heat shrink, a heat gun, soldering gun, and a whole bunch of connectors.

The terminal layout is different between a sealed beam unit and an H4, could this the the cause of the trouble for you?

Shouldn't be different, they all have to operate the same way.

They do, but the terminals are "rotated" between them. Where the common, high and low are located is different.

I built my own harness and it has been working great.

Yeah the layout of the pins between the sealed beams and the H4s are different. I recently made a harness when we upgraded my buddies headlight system.

OK that makes sense, the guy at Rallysports kept calling them H4's and H1's I thought this was a desination for all of the lights that had either 2 filaments (3 prongs on back) or 1 filament (2prongs on back)

Ill write him an email and see if that makes a difference,,,,thanks guys!

You are right in your assumption of the meaning of H4 and H1. H4 bulbs have the 3 terminals (ground "aka" common, high, and low) while the H1 bulbs have 2 terminals (ground "aka" common, and high).

On the 62 the terminals on the 2 filament bulb are not the same as the H4 bulb.

Here is a diagram from the Tech Links showing how the wiring should be done: http://www.ih8mud.com/tech/headlightharness/diagram.pdf

Looking at the back of the bulb (light facing away) the terminals are as follows:

...edit believe it is correct now

the RallyLights.com (RL for short) does not have a fuse between the relay and the com of the lowbeam/highbeam bulb the wiring diagram has a 15A

for anyone ordering this, you might want to ask them to put one in, I am going to do it myself adn change the configuration once I get confirmation from Ray at RL

I will post the wire colors and way it should be wired for stock and for h4 bulbs once I get it figured out,,, for anyone else using this in the future you should make sure they use the same wire colors as they have on mine

I will also post where the wires (colors) are coming from in respect to what relay and what terminal

Do these harness' offer the ability to keep the lows lit when the highs are on?

Yes on the 62s all 4 lights are on high beam when selected. On the 60 if you had it wired that way I guess you could, but it is traditionally wired for them to be on separately.

Usually in a 4 headlight system the hi's of the hi/lo's and the hi-only's are on when on high beams, but not the lows as well. What I'm wondering about is not turning off the lows when on high .

Doing this in the tiny, puny, & nearly worthless 150mm headlights that GM used for a couple of years I ran into too much heat for the reflector assembly to handle and melted the empty "city light" bulb holders, but in the 165mm lens/reflectors this may not be a big of a deal. I have run the lights this way in the large rectangular headlights and in the 7" round (FJ60 type) headlights w/o this problem.
