Hi,

My name is Charles Warfield. I am not yet the proud owner of a 100 but I hope to be soon. I have a tech question for you experts. I have recently got my hands on a 98 lx 470 to use for final fitting of my new 100 series drawer systems. The question I have is what if any differences are there between the 98-06 rear cargo areas? I am hoping that there is a negligible difference. I know that in the 91-97 there is almost no differences at all, and I am hoping the same is true of the 80s younger brother. Thanks for any help on this one..

For details on any of the drawer systems that WOR offers vist www.warfieldoffroad.com I do not yet have specifics up on the new 100 series system but they will come shortly. The new system will look just the same as the 80 series system.

Thanks for any help.

Not sure LX to LC but I don't believe there is a difference. there is a big difference however between vehicles with rear air and without.

On the cargo floor? I understand the ceiling may be different due to ducting and vents, but not sure about the floor, especially since I believe they all take the same third row seats.

Best for the OP to get two side by side and take measurements.

I mainly need to know about any differences between the side walls under the height of the windows.

Thanks

I also need to know the height from the fool to the folded second row seats.

Thanks

Wouldn't that be dependent upon the height of the driver? ;)

Don't know if the rear AC unit eats up into the cargo area on the floor or not.

Somebody post a pic of a non-rear AC trunk.

What is important about the rear A/C is that the intake vent needs to be clear for air flow, and it is down low near the floor as Cory illustrated.

Since there are storage boxes in that side wall with the A/C, I doubt there is a difference in the surface dimensions. Just in that intake vent.

Ok, this is helpful. Does anyone have a pic of the finished interior with the panels and trim installed? That would be very helpful.

Thanks

Could someone get some measurements? I need to know the width of the back area from the panel to opposite panel at about the height of the ash tray, and aprox two inches off the second row seat, and again then just before the paneling curves near the tailgate. Also I need the width from door jam to the opposite jam when the tailgate is opened.

See footnotes that tie to attached picture. These are measurements from a 2006 LC100 with A/C. The ashtray is roughly 2" behind the bottom of the seat base, but as noted below the upper part of the 2nd row seats (not reclined) sits about ~8" from the back of the anchor trim piece. Hope this helps.

1. Using an elbow square held plumb, the back of the seat comes out 7 7/8” from the edge of the 2nd row seat trim piece
2. Tail gate plastic flap / trim piece measures46 5/8”
3. Dimensions just inside plastic trim, measured over the d-rings, are 53 3/8”
4. Measures 43 1/4” just inside plastic trim
5. Measurement at ashtray depth is 42 7/8”
6. Rear opening of the 100, before trim starts to curve up, measures 52 1/16”

Very helpful thanks. To clarify, if I were to hold the tape parallel with the floor but say 8" up, sould I add 1" to the demention 3, and 4?

about a 1/3" on each side for number 4. Number 3 has about 3/4" room on the passenger side and just over 1" on the driver side.

the height of the rear edge of the second row seat, when folded down, looks to be about 10 3/4" high off the carpet, right next to the seat. however, the floor seems to hump a little bit towards the back, and from the top of that hump, the same rear edge of the folded second row seat looks to be about 10 1/4". This dimension is important for using the drawers to complete the "bed" platform.

I'm sure you can get close with all these measurements, but wouldn't it really help the final product if you had a 100 to play with for a day? There has to be someone around the Inland Empire that could loan you a 100 for a discount drawer ;)

edit: the second measurement (10 1/4) was taken with my tape sitting on a plastic seat anchor, so it might be biased a little higher than the carpet. since the drawer will be sitting on same anchors, it might be the better measurement to use?...

I hope there is someone. I have looked and looked, asked and asked, for somebody that has a rig to lone me, but have had nobody step up. I don't know anyone that has a Hundy and as of yet have not been able to get any of my friends to buy one :) I really want one for myself but that is going to have to wait a while. In the mean time I am definetly looking for someone that will let me have a couple of quality hours with there rig. I am always willing to compensate;)
Thanks for all the help and mesurments. If anyone knows someone that has a 100 near by let me know.

Thanks

Where in SoCal are you? I could MAYBE bring my 2005 LX by on wed/thurs for a couple hours if your in the LA area. I need to try and get my wheels/tires taken care of first, and I'm leaving thursday evening. It'd be tight, but might be helpful.
