Selling a rare 1982 Toyota Landcruiser 2 door hardtop BJ42. It has the original 3B 4 cylinder Diesel engine. It has 260,000 km on the motor. 24 volt system. 4 Speed manual transmission with the H42.

As almost all landcruisers of this year (at least in Canada, anyway) there is "significant" rust on the body and frame. The tub will need to be completely replaced as it had been Bondo filled in the 1990’s. Holes in the tub and an aluminum tub would be recommended. I have had this cruiser since 1991. Some frame work will also be required in the rear. Doors have regular rust on the bottoms; fenders are rusted on both sides, bib, rusted, front window frame rusted. Hood on front is rusted and was filled. Comes with two spare rear doors that are also rusted. She has been patched together as I was going through school in the 90's and did'nt have the money to restore it. Bought the 4runner because I can't stand rust! and the one I got is very clean.

Engine fires up and runs but this cruiser has not been on the road since 2001. Does NOT come with 2 working batteries; and I am assuming that it would not currently meet the BC motor vehicle act requirements for roadworthiness (rust on body, frame, brakes, etc...).

Would make great parts cruiser or for someone to restore that wants to but in a good deal of time.

Looking at listing it at $3,500.00 to start. . Once again it is rusty, but simular to some seen previously for sale. No trades wanted as I just bought a 1985 4runner.

Perhaps a silly question (but Map Quest was of no help), where is Fraser Valley located (nearest city)?

How difficult would it be to import this vehicle to the states?

Thanks!

Abbotsford B.C. is center of the Fraser Valley about 50 miles east of Vancouver, B.C. about 3 miles north of the border.

Yes, located in Abbotsford and is within 10 minutes drive of the border.

Not sure how difficult it is to import into the US. Maybe others can chime in on this. For vehicles over 25 years old I can't imagine it being that difficult but am not sure. I have imported a vehicle from the US to Canada and as long as all the documentation is completed correctly it is not that bad.

Perhaps a call to the US customs office or maybe a search of the site to see how others made out with importing into the US.
