BUILT!!! 1988 4runner. CLEAN!

1988 Toyota 4runner.

This is the cleanest solid axled 1st gen 4runner you will ever find. Its completely built with nothing left to do except potentially an interior roll cage. This is my personal vehicle. I use it as a daily driver and trail-rig. Its in incredible condition overall, and needs absolutely nothing. I would drive cross country in it without hesitation. It handles great all the way to 90mph. Specs:

3.0L. with less than 30K on it. 252K on the chassis, but you would never know it. ZERO RUST anywhere on this 4runner. ZERO!
Timing belt and both cam seals replaced 5K ago.
Its a full equipped SR5 with every available option for a 1st gen 4runner. P/W, P/L, cruise control works, A/C blows ice cold, rear heater, Altimeter/Inclinometer, Grant steering wheel, sunroof, etc.

R151 Turbo tranny
23 spline Dual cases with twin sticks and 4.7 Gears in rear case
Dual case crossmember
Front and Rear CV Driveshafts. Front is a 10" long travel shaft. Shafts are balanced and true.

85' solid front axle. 30 spline cromoly shafts, Yukon 5.29s, Solid pinion spacer, Detroit Locker, Knuckle ball gussets, axle truss. Marlin dual lip inner axle seals. Six shooter knuckles with ARP studs, Six stud arms, etc. Its as built as you can build a Toyota front axle.

88' rear V6 axle. Yukon 5.29s, Detroit Locker, Solid pinion spacer.

DOM rock sliders
Addicted Offroad DOM front bumper with SRC 8000lb winch(never even used it)
Addicted Offroad Lambo style tire carrier/rear bumper.

The front kit is a 4" solid axle kit with Bilstein 5125s
is a 5" Rear kit with 5125s.

All fabrication was done in-house at Addicted Offroad by myself personally.

Comes with four 90% tread 35x12.5x15 BFG KM2s mounted on Centerline Hellcats and the spare is brand new with matching wheel.

The interior is in incredible condition. No rips or tears in the seats. Dash pad does have some cracks, but its covered with a dash mat anyway. They are SR5 seats with the nice V6/turbo inner panels and carpeted panels. The headliner is perfect as well. No sagging.

As stated this rig will run down the road true and perfect. It rides great, handles great and wheels better.

At this point, I am wanting to trade it for a specific 3rd gen 4runner or 95-97 FZJ80. I am not in a hurry to sell it, but would for the right price. If I were to sell it outright, I will ask $10,000 firm. However, for $11,000 I will throw in a matching camping trailer with matching wheels on 31" tires. Its setup to tow anywhere as well.

Located in Windsor, CO about 45mins north of Denver

What I am looking for:
99-02 4runner. I am looking for a Black or Titanium Silver SR5 Sport Edition with the hood scoop. 5spd or A/T is fine. Would prefer an Elocker and cloth interior, but not 100% necessary. Less than 150K mileage wise. Something like 4X4Fink's old 4runner would be ideal.

OR

1995-1997 FZJ80 with Elockers and center diff lock. Must have three rows of seats. Would honestly prefer cloth. If leather, then I want it in very good shape.

OR

I will also consider a diesel Excursion limited 4x4 or lower mileage V10 or Yukon XL/Suburban 4x4.

Please understand that if you vehicle isn't worth what I believe mine is, then I will ask for cash to make up the difference.

Anyway, here are some pics.

Overall interior

Here is a video of how the rear tire carrier works:
YouTube - Addicted Offroad's Toyota 4runner Lambo tire carrier Part-2

I can take detailed pics of anything else you may need. Please, serious inquiries only.

Please call me with any questions: 970-420-4198

That is so very nice. I'm sure you'll get what you want for it; if I had what you wanted, I would do it. But then again, I am looking for the same trade that you are (except you'll fetch a better value).

Why do you need three rows of seats in your FZJ80?

WOW, THAT IS SOME REAL CANDY !!!!

Did you ever have the head gaskets replaced on that 3.0, or was that not one of the years that had the problems.....??

Wish I did not have so many toys sitting in the yard right now.
I will never sneak that one past the CEO/CFO
That is one of the cleanest 1st Gen Runners ever.

The 88' was the only year that wasn't effected by the recall.

However, Yes, they were done when the lower end was replaced.

One more time.

I was trying to quote an earlier comment and it was getting placed out of sequence in this thread.

I missed the statement in the original post re: the 3.0 has 30K on it...... Guess that means it was rebuilt . Hence the new HG !!!!

What kind of MPG do you get while in the DD mode ???

Wanna trade for a 2005 Custom 1.6L Honda transaxle crawler.
2 Seater. F&R hydraulic sreering. Currie 9" HP's w/ 31 spline CM shafts. Lots of cool parts. Also have a 2005 18 foot dovetail car hauler trailer.......

Not interested in a buggy really.

I get around 15-16mpg in it. The 3.0L was never a really efficient motor. On my last Moab trip I got 16.5mpg there and back. That is running at 75-80mph and going over I-70 through the Rockies.

Bump for a beautiful truck.

I vote you keep it and just save for the 80.

Thanks guys. I am surprised that it hasn't sold yet. This is a completely turn key rig.

Oh, and I forgot that it has a pretty damn nice stereo system in it.

Pioneer MP3, CD, Ipod deck
Infinity tweets in the doors
Polk Audio 5.25" ones in the dash
Polk Audio 6x9s in the rear panels
Infinity 12" sub in a box with a 200W amp as well.

This rig has been killing me the last few days, since I'm in Frisco, CO. The only problem is I'd have to sell my '89 4Runner, Corolla, and Samurai first...Oh well, another bump for you! Good luck!
