After changing the rims and tires last Friday, and doing a 4hr install of front suspension on Monday, I deserved a day of wheelin on the trails close to home. Me and two buddies loaded up the kids, and decided to head to the McLean Creek trails just 40 minutes from home.

Here is a pic of the rig at the top of the trail "Top of the World". This is about 8530 ft above sea level.

knorrena, of the 80 series threads, also decided to come for a boot...glad he did. This was his first time doing any sort of major wheelin with his supercharged LX450 (I do love his rig!). All I can say is Dave and I were extremely impressed with some of the lines he took that we went around.

Here is a pic of his rig coming up one of the hills.

And the smile on his face after the climb.

Dave isn't an LC guy, but a Toyota guy none-the-less. He has been extremely helpful in my installs and mods. Here is his sweet 4Runner doing what it does best.

We ended up crashing some sort of Jeep Jamboree, but they were kind enough to include us three Toys.

This was the view ahead.

And the view behind.

Finally we made it to the Top of the World. :clap:The altimeter in Dave's 4Runner read 2600m or about 8500ft at this point. My son just loved the view.

After a quick lunch, it was time to head down and out. That presented a few challenges of it's own. I ended up bottoming out on the frame in one section and suffering some damage to my running board. To be honest, before I negotiated it, I didn't think the LC200 could make it, but with the little damage I was impressed. I thought it was going to be a lot worse. Here is a pic of the section.

That's Knorrena coming down right after me. He had no problems clearing it, because once I thudded, some of the Jeep guys came running to spot. I learned my lesson, and will ask for spotting next time.

All in all it was a great day. The suspension install helped out, and improved the ride quite a bit. There is still some tweaking that needs to be done with the remote resevoirs and adjustment on the lift, but other than that, it held up well.

Thanks to Dave and Knorrena, I had a great day!

P.S.
I keep on getting more impressed with this rig. I am truely surprised at what it can navigate. For some of you who still think that it is overpriced and that a Land Rover is better for the money with all its soft leather and real wood (you know who you are), I'll tell you...we have taken my wife's Land Rover out on this trail, and it doesn't even compare. The LC wins any day.

Very nice to hear that the 200 wheels as well as others. And also nice to see that you take yours out and use it as designed!

Very nice! Wish we had some of those mountain trails out here!!

Time to get you some Slee Sliders!! Give Christo a call and see if he has some! Well worth the money.

the pics look great. can't wait till the next wheelin day.

Me too! I had so much fun. By the way, I fixed the clunk...it was the resevoir banging on that screw. Also cleaned and put some paint repair polish over the pinstripe. If it doesn't rain tomorrow, I'll finish polishing and put on a super coat of wax.

I've had steel sitting at my shop for a couple of months waiting to be cut and welded up. Once I find a decent bender, I'll make me some sliders. Could have used them today. Now I have an excuse for removing the steps though.

Lets see some pics of the damage!

Sounded worse than the outcome. The whole running board is tilted up a bit now. Helps me get into the car.

The pinstriping pisses me off though. It was kind of deep.

That is all the way down the vehicle.

Very nice.....I had some pinstriping but it was not as deep.

Those running board pics crack me up.

Hey BTW, I totally forgot what I was supposed to send you via email! Can you msg me again so I can send it out to you?

Thanks for inviting me, I had a great time. You should know that Chimyz has particularly large cahonies, and I am rather proud to have been there to see him wheel a 200 series. He did do a little bit of showing off - that decent/ascent control works well and it is neat to see an air born wheel move in tiny little increments as the truck moves forward.

I have a few pics of where he got all the damage he posted:

These are a series of pics that show where Chimyz's running board got nailed. He hit pretty hard - hard enough for my 4yo son to say "uh oh Marc got an owee".

The last pic is of my son and my dented fender (not from this trip but from a tobaggoning trip).

Once again Marc and Dave, we both had a whole lot of fun.

Cheers,

Karl

Thanks for the pics Karl...didn't know my a$$ was so big! Those are great shots of the trail and the mountains. We are lucky to have this close to home. I am glad you came out, and we should do it again.

Chimyz, your ride is really coming along.. I saw some of the pictures of the install.. awesome!!!

We could totaly do some wheelin this weekend, or skip two wheels and the motor and do some MTBing! I haven't been doing much of that lately.

Looks awesome! Congrats.
Very nice to see the 200 on the trail
