Seems simple to me. Make the RV plug into the protector via a 125V 30A plug and socket. Make the protector plug into the source via the same. Blow the protector then unplug it and plug the RV into the (hopefully) new source. Only slightly slower than a breaker and uses all COTS parts.
This sounds like a good approach. If I understand you correctly: create a 30A female plug on the inside then use of 2 30A male plugs that either go to the power conditioner or straight through. It's pretty cramped at the location but this should work. Thanks for the idea.

Shore power ends inside in an outlet.
Protector has a plug on it's input.
Protector has an outlet on it's output.
RV has a plug on it's input. Make sure that the RV plug can reach the shore power outlet.
