I am considering redoing the A/C in my 1987 Bronco II. I have a mechanic buddy who is certified to do Air conditioning. He has offered to price match or allow me to find the parts on line cheaply and will only charge me the labor & refrigerant costs. A couple of questions:

What parts, other than the compressor, condenser and dryer should I look into replacing?

Should I spring to get the R134a conversion or go with the replacement Freeze 12 stuff?

I live in Southern New Mexico with summer temps that reach 100 degrees plus and I would really like this A/C to work better than just OK.

Any Suggestions?

Thanks,

George
