Ever since my first SNT I have been eye-ballin the 80s. Finally... decided it was time to dive in. Found a rig on MUD that had everything I was looking for. So far... LOVING IT! What a change from DD my 60 for 6 years.

Basic truck info: '96 200k DD, Js, Ls, locked, 35s Truxus, ARB, MAF panhards, IPOR rear, DC front shaft, 4.88s, dual batts

PO was very good about preventative and ongoing maintenance. He let me know the front axle would need a rebuild soon and included a rebuild kit. The only trouble is... im not sure what each part is in the packaged kit. Ive read through the entire FAQ 2 times and also looked through the P/N thread. Trying to be sure I have everything before I start the job and hoping you guys can help me figure what I am missing.

Ive started gathering things like diff oil, brake cleaner, ton of paper towels, 54mm socket, etc. Just not clear on what OEM parts I need.

For those that may fall into my situation... the kit part# number is: 04434-60050 and was is replaced by part# 04434-60051

Any and all help is appreciated!

What I think I have:
[STRIKE]Marlins heavy-duty seals[/STRIKE] confirmed
[STRIKE]90310-35010 x2 Inner axle oil seals[/STRIKE] confirmed (planning to use Marlins... good idea?)
[STRIKE]90366-20003 x4 Knuckle Bearings & races (Koyo: 30304AJR-2-N Hi cap)[/STRIKE] confirmed
[STRIKE]90215-42025 x2 Tabbed Spindle Lock Washer[/STRIKE] - confirmed

Note: Planning to reuse stock shims
Note: Both side Inner and outer wheel bearings replaced at 160k - will inspect them
Note: Passenger birf new… not planning to switch but would like to thoroughly clean ea side

What I think I need or not 100% sure if I have it:

[STRIKE]43436-60011 x2 Inner Spindle Gasket [/STRIKE]got it

Is that your picture or someone elses? If that is your picture you have most, if not all, of what you need.

Pretty sure the:

"90313-93003 x2 Dust Seal" are top center in your pic
"43204-60031 x2 Dust Seal & wiper Kit" are the 4 groupings of items on the right side
"43436-60011 x2 Inner Spindle Gasket" and "43435-60020 x2 Outer Spindle Gasket" are the white paper gaskets in the center
"43422-60060 x2 Hub Gasket" are bottom center below the white gaskets

You'll need the "90521-34005 x2 C-clip for inner axle to birfield" if you plan on separating the birfs from the axles (sounds like you do). Sometimes they break, sometimes they don't. Neither of mine did but I replaced them anyway and now have some emegency spares.

I can't place the light blue gaskets? Reminds me of Warn locking hub gaskets but it has been 4+ months since I did my front actual service.

You can leave off these things unless you have a desire/reason to replace them:

90520-31007 x2 Snap ring for outer axle
90126-12005 x8 New style lower knuckle studs

You definitely don't need the snap rings unless you just want to replace them. As for the knuckle studs, maybe you just want the newer style?

Thanks corsair... your info was very helpful!

Yup... thats my pic. Good to know most of its there. I updated the orginal post and pic. Im going to order the rings since they are cheap and lave the studs as-is.

One thing... can I assume that the "grease seal for wheels" is between the bearings and Marlin seals?

Not sure what the blue gaskets are either. This kit seems to be Aussie or something so maybe its for versions of this axle with hubs? Seemed to be a universal kit with what I could find on the net.

Yes, those are the grease seals for the wheels. Those Marlin seals are essentially duplicates to the inner axle seals and meant to replace them. On the shims - absolutely reuse them and absolutely do not lose track of where they are for exact reassembly.

Before you pry out the old inner axle seals, see if you can examine them with a bright light to see where the axle has been running in the seal. Top of the seal or bottom of the seal?? You'll be able to discern a wear pattern on the rubber lip if it's subtle (a good thing) by examining where the little pattern molded into the lip is worn - they're like tiny angled ridges. If it's a lot of wear it will be obvious of course. Would be interesting for folks to start posting this info for a lot of reasons I won't get into right now. Good luck with the repack.

IdahoDoug.... you got it. May be a few weeks before I dive into this but, it will be in the very near future.
