Hi All-

Just successfully rebuilt my power steering pump, which is great as I have never had functional PS in this truck.

Mystery is why the low pressure side of the pump now appears to be leaking.

Any ideas what might have gone awry?

Cheers,

Austin

You probably damaged the o-ring or forgot to install it.
Thanks for the suggestion.

The new o-ring was certainly installed. It's possible that I damaged it, but I'm not entirely sure how that would have happened, unless perhaps it rolled up the side of the pipe as I was pressing it into the pump?

Whatever the case, it seems like I need to drain the fluid and pull everything apart again. Bummer.

Where did you get your parts? Was it a OEM rebuild kit? I am looking to rebuild the fuel pump on the same engine.

OEM-no replacement bearing, but in my case the bearing was fine upon inspection.

Found the offending o-ring.

Generously coated the replacement before install and very carefully slid into pump housing.
