1996 rear axle shafts (1 Viewer)

So i have been searching looking to find out if the 96 full float rear axle has c clips for the axles? and also with stock gears i should be able to drop the 3rd and remove spider gears to replace with spartan locker without having to tear down the 3rd? everything i have read has been 91 or 92 cruisers different rear axle. any help would be appreciated before I tear into it.

Not C-Clip axles, they bolt on via the flange located in the center of the wheel mount area.

that's what i thought just didn't want to tear into it and be stuck fiddling with c clips.

A semi-float axle will have a separate cover over the rear of the gears so you can remove the c-clips.

Full float axles do not have c-clips and the axles are removed by the bolts on the ends of the hubs. You don't have to even have the wheels off the ground or remove a tire to pull the axles on a FF axle.

Pull the axles
Pull the DS
Unbolt the pumpkin
Drop it on your hand
Cuss.

Reverse the procedure for install.
